The best Trance production of the recent years is this

If you play two banging tracks without breakdown in advance and then drop this track @ 140bpm it will be huge impact on the dancfloor! This video is at around 136bpm... |

Good music never dies. Trance was what got me into clubbing but when Gatecrasher stopped opening weekly I drifted off into Hard House. Didn't buy a Trance tune for about 8 years. God knows what I was thinking. Firmly back in the Trance camp now :D
If people think Trance is dead they should check the Hard House scene out. That really is on its knees. 10 digital sales can get you in the Top 10 on Trackitdown. Even Tidy Trax are having to cancel events. Sad state of affairs. |

The reason trance will always stay at the top is it has nice melodies, it build the song up gives you a break and then takes you on the journey again. it has so many elements going on that keeps you interested.
I've been into trance since the start and i must say i still love listening to the old songs today. |

I agree on both counts. I like the fact Trance tracks are quite long compared to Hard House or Hardcore. I have quite a few Hardcore tracks less than 5 minutes long. The majority are around 6 minutes. I suppose it's good for that genre as it keeps the energy flowing non-stop but I've always liked the longer Trance tracks as there's so much more to them.
I love the old stuff too. Both my latest mixes are of tracks circa 1999. I think there's better made tracks from recent years but I think with the older music it's more about how clubbing made you feel. Clubbing was new, pills were new, the whole genre was new. To me obviously. Even the best Analogue Synths and FX Units can't recreate how good it felt to walk into the main room at Gatecrasher while PVD was playing 1998. |

only ask because i find having such mixed tastes in music can lead to many unfinished tracks. |
I usually hear the idea in my head as I'm writing the melodies and chord progressions, which more or less gives me a mental "goal" of where I want to take the song. Of course, since most of my tracks have female vox in them, I sometimes start to hear things slightly different once the vocals are in place, but I generally tend to stay true to my original vision. |

The Slinky Hard nights are doing v.well atm. Always packed out but don't know what rest of UK is like. Seem to like their harder music in the South West of UK |

Glad to hear it. There's a few nights being put on up here but not on a regular basis. Maybe a handful or so every year. B2T do the odd night at Gatecrashers new venue which is supposed to be good but up till now I've been too busy to attend. X-Static do nights at The Custard Factory but the last one was less than full from what I can gather though it was on the same night as B2T. |
