I want to know what is the best drummchine VST out there, I'm ussign Battery but is very unstable on my system.
I'm looking for something like the Reason Redrum. or even like Battery but with great sound and stability, it doesn't matter about libraries because I use samples.
So guys, what do you use? recommend? suggest?
thank you!
cheers! |

Battery 3 has a long track record and is one of the most stable drum VSTs on the market. Which version are you using (1, 2, or 3)? Do you have the latest update? Try contacting NI support and they should be able to help you out. |

I also vote for Battery (which you already use though..)
But I myself prefer to arrange my drum-samples directly in the Cubase-Sequencer. :) |

I use Battery 3.0.4 is that the last update?
Often it hangs up my system whrn I add Battery to my rack I'm using Cubase SX3.
thanks for the replies! |

If you are looking for something like 'redrum of Reason', why not just rewire Reason and use that?
But if that's not possible, then you can try 'izotope idrum'. It's very handy and quick to use. I have battery 3, but I'm not too fond of it's interface for quick browing and loading stuff. It's not bad, but I use 'redrum and dr.rex' myself and I find that combo so much better.
So just try stuff out and then stick to one that works out for you.
It took me a VERY long time to find the right sequencer that would rewire with Reason with all outputs and not cause problems, good piano roll, bussing architecture, workflow, no crashes, etc...
And I finally found what I needed, after endless searching and trial/error and disappointments.
Sony Acid Pro 7 & Reason 4 (Rewires like a charm)
Sony Sound Forge 9 (Integrates with Acid)
A few good effect bundles & lots of samples
I'm suggesting this because I've used it quite extensively now, so maybe it might work for you? Well, never hurts to try stuff out. |

I'd recommend Guru. I tried Maschine at a guitarcenter here and really wasn't all that impressed with the actual software and its [lack of] integration with your day to day DAW. |

Linplug - RMV
and as others said Guru is good.
It is handy as another has said already, to do your drums right into the sequencer if u are using samples. If u learn how to do it right and quickly, it can yield different results, possibly better results, depending on your workflow. It allows you to see your drums in a different, more visual way. I personally am half and half, sometimes into the sequencer, other times I use a sampler. I find myself only grabbing a drum machine when I am looking for something specific, like shakers, many sample packs dont have lots of shakers, but, I find RMV has some decent shakers. Just try different
methods and try demos of some vsts. |

| Ableton's integrated drum rack and you're done. I can't see any virtual instrument that lets you add any vst effect on EACH sample that way, and that lets you use your own vst synths and samplers on a single drumpad. It's probably the best integration of a drum machine/ human interface I've ever seen. |
