I was about to say the same thing! :D

battery is nice, but I think more useful for rock drums maybe...

Reason's Redrum let's you connect each sample output to the Left & Right input of the device interface. If you rewire, you can then add vst effect to each of the samples and mix them down individually. Redrum is probably the best drum-module i've ever come across.

BTW, what's the Ableton's drum-module called? I may have missed it & will check it out. I have Ableton, but I just find it has a kinda 'quirky' look/feel for a proper DAW. It's the piano roll that bothers me. It seems very primitive even in version 8.

I agree that Guru and Battery are brilliant, but the Ableton Drum Rack is all I need, and it's so flexible.

Absolutely! I bought Guru, was pretty disappointed in some of its quirks and deficiencies, so I bought BPM and it's a HUGE improvement IMO. I still prefer Battery 3 and Stylus RMX, but BPM is pretty incredible.

Often it hangs up my system whrn I add Battery to my rack I'm using Cubase SX3.

thanks for the replies!

It crashes because you are using cracked Battery and cracked Cubase. Go and buy it, or STFU and stop complaining.

I use GURU.

I checked out the 'drum rack' of Ableton yesterday. I have to admit, I'm pretty impressed with it. It's definitely better than the redrum in some aspects. It feels like a mini version of 'battery 3', especially because of the fact that you can locate the pointers anywhere in the waveform to start and stop playback.

I didn't catch the adding vst effect on each sample. I'll have to check that out soon. I've been using Sony Acid 7 for some time now. Getting deep with Ableton, I did get tempted to switch. I love the way you can build midi ideas on mixer page and copy paste those into the sequencer. Kind of like FL/project5.

I still wish the piano roll had erase sweep with the right mouse button and automation curves. The interface could look less 'toy-like'. But all in all, very cool program and no crashes either.

Hey Lolo, i tried to figure out how you add different audio effect to each sample but failed. I loaded up a drum and hi-hat and tried to have a different eq to both using sonalksis. But it doesn't seem to route the samples to the eq. It only works if i add the audio effect to the entire 'drum rack'.

How did you go about this? I would like to figure this out, thanks.
