Dj's that use laptops (pg. 2)

I'll mix with CD's from time to time if I am in situation where doing so is less cumbersome than bringing my laptop, but I am a full convert to Traktor. I love it and I feel it has made me a smarter, more efficient DJ. I actually don't feel like I am doing less, but actually that I am more active and doing more. The consolidation of time from buying a track to playing it is simplified as well and I love that.

I have a whole storage room of vinyl that I go rummage through every now and again and I appreciate the sexiness of it, but I could never go back to that and I also don't miss the hours of burning and labeling CD's.

The magic happens on the mixer. EQ'ing is where it's at.

I once went on stage when a well known (unnamed dj) was playing and he was outputting a continuous mix from iTunes - no live mixing involved. He was jumping around and banging on the keyboard like a maniac, putting on a real stage show, but it was a big hoax.

I went cold on laptop djs after that.
