Being from Mtl, I can't complain THAT much about the djs we get here. Yes, although we don't always get what we want, or the same damn djs over and over, it could be worse. WE could've had none.
What I find rediculous, is our "massives", which have 4-6 intl djs and cost over 100$, whereas in toronto, and event like Canada Day @ Guverment, costs 35$$$ with this kinda lineup:
Steve Lawler
Dubfire
Richie Hawtin
Ferry Corsten
Cosmic Gate
Menno De Jong
Mark Oliver
& More.
Okay, so there's 7 djs. A Canadian and some Americans, but either way 35$$$$ AND I JUST managed to get guestlist, so I'm going virtually free.
Okay, Torontonians can't party as hard we do :D
but is that a reason to absolute rape us with entrances??
A couple weeks ago, I saw tenaglia @ parking. it was 45.25$.
Drove to toronto on the Sunday. Saw him, michelangelo (which I aso saw opening for danny in ibiza, he's great!) and derrick carter and i dont remember how many other djs... for 25$
WTF.
FML.
Discuss, and an official call out to whoever's heading our "Massives"...
(and for the example of our massives, yes I know theres alot money in renting spaces & equip, vs guvernment which owns the spot, but either way, were raped hard here,) |

| it's the venue costs for one thing (ie ugly Guv vs Bell Centre).Things like acquiring liquor licenses also make it more expensive. Let the experts (ie Malek, Louis) chime in :p |

why the hell did I have to pay 45.25 to see tenaglia for 2-3 hours,
where in toronto he played until 11:30 at the same time as derrick carter for 25?
its just constant ing rape. |

| it's all about the booze sold at Guv and the fact that it's a permanent venue vs. the huge costs involved with renting everything for a massive in MTL. |

what paskal said (even if they sell a lot of booze at massives). Piknic can be so cheap because the city donates them the use of the venue area. It is a great move because piknic has become more than just for traditional party people and in a time when the city is losing tourist attraction after attraction it helps. |

supply and demand;)
when tenaglia would play stereo the price would be triple the usual because of the demand for the tickets being greater than the capacity of the venue.
think of it as being the same when the habs charge insane prices for playoff tickets. |

yeah except for the last time he played there where that plan of $100 tix backfired completely and the place was half full hahaha

i wouldn't know, i had fun at a lot of tenaglia epic marathon sets, but the reality is that he ain't good enough to justify me paying that. I'm just not that into the gay tiesto.
