I am looking to get a laptop passed on that is a Macbook with 2 gigs of ram and an Inter 2.6ghz Dual Core processor....

Do you think this is enough to run Traktor pro seemlessly? I can get more ram but thats about all I can upgrade on it...
jupiterone
i'd get it 4gb of ram on the thing, 2.6 is enough. it'll work fine
Ryan0751
LOL that is MORE than enough. Upgrading to 4GB is cheap so you might as well, but you do NOT need 4 GB of RAM for Traktor.

Well hey man, if you want, i can sell you a brand new Studio Dell 15" laptop, if you want.

4 Gigz Rams
2.53 Intel 6MB cache

So power on this machine is fairly good :D

If you've got the option of getting a Mac, then get the Mac.

I ran Traktor for a few years on a 2.13GHz Centrino and 1 GB of RAM.

You'll be fine.

macs are so overated. i'd get a good spec'd windows laptop and use the money saved into getting other toys. :p

The hardware might be, the OS definitely isn't.

the OS is alright, i've used it for a while and i don't see anything worth writing home about but everyone has a preference.

I couldn't disagree any more but as you said it's all down to preference. I think the OS is a lot faster and sleeker, if that makes sense :)

It really is a preference thing in the end of the day and you do pay a premium to be part of that apple club, a premium which i personally think is way over the top but at the time i had enough money to get one so i did, whether i'd get one now is debatable as i just don't have that kind of money.

Macbooks are pretty cheap actually. When I got my macbook it was the second cheapest model I could find in a 13" laptop across the market with the other being a Lenovo for about $900. Maybe things are different now, but I felt it was a good deal.
