Cubase 5 remains in process-tree after shutdown?

Hey everybody!
Sometimes when my Cubase 5 locks-up and I have to force-quit it, it remains in the process-tree, taking up valuable space in my working-memory. If the cubase-project uses 1500mb of my RAM, it still uses as much when Cubase has been closed. And the only way for me to remove it from the tree after wards is to restart the computer. My Cubase is fairly stable, so this doesn't happen too often, but when it does it's really frustrating. So, is there a simpler way to remove the Cubase-instance in the process-tree apart from pressing the "Close Process" -button (in the ctrl+alt+delete Process-Manager) which doesn't work and restarting the computer? (I run Windows XP)
Oh btw, my software is legit and I have the latest updates. If the problem remains I'll just contact the Steinberg support. But I thought someone here might have some suggestions first! :)
Thanks in advance!

| Nice to know that even 5 is a piece of crap. Just Ctrl+alt+del it and end the process. |

| Thanks for your reply. But that's exactly my problem, that it's doesn't work. |

When you click on End Process, does the "End Now" dialog come up? |

Yes, but when I click it, Cubase remains in the list. :\ That's what really bugs me. |

Thanks for the great tips mate!! I will try them out the next time the problem occurs! :) Regarding if it disappears after several minutes (say 5+ minutes), I don't know actually since I most often restart the computer almost right after, so I haven't really checked. Thanks again!! :) |

It may just take some time. When Cubase craps out on me I normally have to wait a couple minutes for everything to clear out. |

| I had the same thing happen to me in Live 7.0.16 with Windows XP. |

| I had the same in Cubase Studio 4. It does go away after a few minutes but if you try and enter another music program like Live for example, errors come up and you have to re-open the program and re-assign soundcard settings. A pain... |
