WRONG!
Against Italy, Italy got a perfecly legal goal cancelled which would send Krea home, and against Spain 2 goals were cancelled because rediculous referee descisions. |

So does this mean that Germany paid more $$$ than Korea did for winning this match? :]
Hmmm.. I wonder how much Turkey paid to come this far since many of you claim them to be a 'lesser' team as well. Hmmm.. I guess 'crap' teams might as well not bother participating in the tourney anymore since they're not allowed to win because if they did then you know it's cheating and bribery and rigged.
if any of you guys ran or coached a nation's soccer club would you accept the World Cup if you knew that it was bought from the start or that the tourney was rigged? That's pretty low and to accuse a country (any country not just Korea) of such a thing is pretty bad. I agree on all the bad calls and such but when you look at it in the end that's something that's part of the game. Ref's are only human and they can only be fair in so much a way. Good teams will always find ways to win regardless of how the game is being called. They learn to adapt and play thru !@#$. Congrats to Germany for moving on and congrats to Korea for going so far. Everyone else who's still crying and keep doing so for another 4 years. |

so basically thats ALL you see?!?!? just the referee calls....what a lack of observation i must say.....how about vieri missing the wide open net with less than 5 min to go in regulation? aside from that, there were a few other GREAT scoring chances that the italians ed up on. if they were so great like they say they are, they should have capitalized on korea's mistakes and win the game with ease. it never should have went into extra time if they were really that good. the problem is, they aren't THAT good and they did not take advantage when they had their chances. korea capitalized on italy's mistakes. that was the REAL difference in the game. the italians have no one to blame but themselves.
oh yeah spain....hm....let me see...if they were so great...why the hell would you lose in the shootout to the lowly koreans? oh right...its the refs fault too that joaquin kicked the ball right at the goalie even though the spanish kicker delayed his shot causing the goalie to go off balance first. sure a bad call may have caused the spaniards a goal or two that would have sent korea packing BUT they were right there in the end to the very last shot and they, being the heavy favorites, could not deliver. it came down to 5 shots a piece. korea did all they could, spain did not. THAT was the bottom line.
"Good teams find ways to win"
the "true" good teams will always find a way to overcome their adversities and find a way to get the job done. the bad teams always crumble under pressure.
as i have said like a million times already, bad calls have always been a part of every sport. whining about it will not change the results nor would making the oppoositions victory look cheap do it either.
seriously, seeing how some of you people get so worked up on calls like that in the wc, i hate to see how some of you europeans would react if you follow NA sports religiously. so suck it up. afterall its only a ing game for god's sake.
EDIT - hehe whoops...posted this before reading desidel's post...pretty much what i said has been stated. anyway wc...i can't wait to see the "cooler" football....the NFL :) |

At least the NFL has controversial calls that can be reviewed with a coaches' challenge. If that could be done about soccer, then that Maradona hand-goal in,... i think it was in 82', wouldn't have counted. LOL!!! I guess all I can say is, what's done is done. You can't change the past but you can only make the future better. Come on FIFA, the refs are only human and are bound to make mistakes. Make some changes for the better.
The Brazil/Turkey match-up is just around the corner. There's a reason why these two teams are playing again, since many people are complaining about that controversial penalty shot Rivaldo scored late in the game against Turkey during the qualifying round. Some people say he was tripped outside of the box. Well Turkey, here's your chance to do something about it. You can get your revenge or go home.
Turkey is a great team who has a chance to beat Brazil, but Brazil's talent is far better than any team I've ever seen. Should be an interesting match-up. Enjoy the game. ;) |

KOREA GOES HOME!
This just shows Korea won becuase of the referee's decisions in the matches against Spain and Italy.
They are unexpereienced and the game today shows it, they coudlnt make more than 4 attacks,
Germany however played better today and attacked, all they needed was 1 chance.
Finally, justice is done. |
germany did play better football, but the game ultimately showed that korea can hang with the top teams. while korea had possession most of the time during other games it was not the case, and germany won virtually all of the headers. its not as if korea didnt have a chance to win though and i am happy and proud that they have improved so much and come this far |

It seems to me that all the Korean fans will be rooting for Brazil. I wonder why. All Germany did was beat Korea fair and square.
I want Germany to win, but Ballack is an important player for the Germans and won't play because of the 2 yellow cards he received. This means that Neuville and Klose will have to step up, the German defense needs to be stronger than ever and Kahn needs to be excellent in goal.
Meanwhile Korea plays Turkey for 3rd place. I'm actually going for Korea this time. Turkey is a great team and passes the ball really well but they're too violent and I don't like that type of team. No matter what the result will be, I'll still live to see the next day. So what's next. Hmmmm, can anyone say Major League Baseball. LOL!!! I'm probably gonna throw my T.V. in the pool on Monday.
