1. no good recording studio covers their entire walls with foam. this kills the ambience and is pure retardation. this is what noobs do that have no idea about acoustics (like yourself). point in case: the sydney opera house recording studio. you're looking at a few million spent on this single room and they only have two traps along the left wall.
i'm pretty sure a professionally designed studio with floating rooms, custom monitors and a few million in gear would have their acoustics sorted out...
2. covering your walls with thin foam will absorb/diffuse highs and do nothing to the lows. the end result is dead highs and out of control lows. that is even worse than having no treatment at all - at least with an untreated room you have some consistency across the frequency range. this is the point dj rann correctly restated.
thus, your advice is and you have no right to be all high and mighty, with your "haven't any of you even been in a recording studio" crap. you continually make a joke of yourself and all the TA regulars lol @ you on msn. there's even a few photochops of your myspace photos floating around. you act like a retard and you bring everything on yourself - it can end as soon as you want it to. |

What is going to end? You have one forum full of amatures and a bunch of eurocentric tards. People on this forum are generally of one of the following two catagories. They either enjoy [untill I came along] having an ego trip where everyone looked up to them and thought they were something, because all the nonsense they spout was left unchallanged. Or they simply follow the few popular people around here simply based on the fact that everyone seems to think they are popular, not based on anything substancial.
The only thing going on is I am challenging everything these egomaniacs have said. And I'm purposly ing up their high. And they know it. And they usualy just stop arguing all together and go do something else. And then you have the pitiful group of followers who honestly believe they are "on to something" when they throw an insult at me.
Do you think a bunch of dumbasses sitting around loling at things they have no clue about, really hurts me? Chances are none of them are above the age of 16 anyways. The older ones have better things to do. This whole "thing" is a child one. We adults aren't really effected by it.
Go back and watch some crappy DBZ kid. |

Back to the point, acoustic treatment isn't as exact as some people here want protray it as. Every recording booth ive ever seen was covered from top to bottom in foam. Because when recording vocals it kills reverberation. Cartons are a cheap substitute you can use. It depends what you want. My goal is to remove reverberation. The other stuff they mentioned is pretty arbitrary. |
