Just saw an add that richie hawtin will be featured on CBC news, title reading:

I'm sure 50% of it will be about his twitter/traktor setup.
Regardless though, great to see toronto club land with a national story that is actually positive. |

What a genius. I remember reading an old paperback years ago on the evolution of the EDM scene, with features on Richie and other Canadian talent (John Acquaviva included). He seemed to be so much more forward thinking than the others.
So then last summer I was sitting on a workshop panel with a few colleagues, and Richie's lawyer (whoa...heavy...lol!). A question came to all panel members at the end, "So what do you think is the future of electronic music experiences in clubs?"
Lawywer answers in a very confident tone:
1. Adam K & Soha are a new generation of dj's and you'll see them skyrocket in terms of live performances.
2. Eventually everyone in the club will know what track the dj is playing in real time. The clubber will access tracks through a mobile device (i.e. phones) using a specific provider (i.e. twitter). They will have instant access to the music they love.
Man, obviously Richie has been working on this for years. I seem to recall reading in this old paperback of mine that his main goal in night clubs was to improve the connection between the dj and the partiers. Clearly his dream is coming true.
Man....what an inspiration. Thank god Richie is Canadian!!!!
