From what I've heard of his older tribal sound I didn't like that either. It was like those cheesy tribal tracks you'd hear in a dinosaur museum with ooga oogas and metal drums and overdone chants but then they'd throw in a "can you feeeeel iiiiit" .

Lawler was only good for me back in 2005 with Lights Out 3. Specifically disc 2 (sans that abc track).

I liked his recent EM. I think even though his playing all the popular tech-house tribal tracks, he layers them so nice making them sound completely different.

I'm really lagging on this, too.

Good thing ears aren't an important tool for DJ's, or anything.
