And then there's boobs, which is kinda the same - providing a reasonable explanation for why am I alive and what am I doing here.

does anyone ever experience psychic-like situations on a regular basis?

for example:

i was just at the grocery store and for some stupid reason, as i was walking in, i had a random thought in my head that one of these days i'm going to run into my ex boss at that grocery store because he lives close to it. well sure enough, i saw him in the ing grocery store after i walked in:wtf:

Maybe you saw him or his car, like out of the corner of your eye, but you didn't really consciously see him as in focus on him but subconsciously your brain clicked ..and that's why you thought, one of these days, I'm gonna run into my exboss...

Hey, remember all those times when you thought something and nothing became of it? No? That's because they happen hundreds of times every day, and nobody remembers insignificant thoughts.

no i definitely didn't see his car or him while walking in. i saw him like 5 minutes into being in the store. he has gotten a new car since i worked for him and all i know is that it's a BMW 6 series i don't know what color or anything so i wouldn't have known he was there.

so for all of you non-believers in this whole 6th sense thing or not believing that people have "energy" or i guess more like an aura that is stronger than others, how do you explain intuition? i mean it's pretty much the same thing. you always here people saying things like you should always trust your instincts or your first intution, never question yourself, etc...?

Most people's "intuition" is that flipping a coin and getting heads increases the chance that the second flip will land tails. Intuition sucks as a guide to knowledge and truth. And then when it happens to be right once in a while people say "OMG I must be psychic!"

As always in this kind of thread, I recommend reading Derren Brown's "A Trick Of The Mind" for a great explanation of how superstition, premonition, luck and New Age beliefs actually work, and why they're false.

Derren Brown is amazing. He's very gay, too. Which I had no idea.

But yeah, he's very good. I recommend.
