I'd be down to try it. I like my food like I like my tittie bars. Local.

once you get over the fact that it is not easy, it is pretty awesome.

Does the 100 miles include the ocean? Because we get out pretty far on the boat to catch our Ahi tuna. :p

yeah it definitely seems like a lot of work. it's something i'd like to try someday when i have more time for researching/shopping/cooking. i still eat fairly healthy, but my diet lately has been geared towards convenience.

a few summers ago a bunch of restaurants in Milwaukee did something called the "eat local challenge" where they changed their menus for one weekend to include only local ingredients.

this would be very good once you are in new york.

there are tons of farms in that state, and they produce a lot of neat stuffs.

yeah i actually just thought of that after i posted. my mom has a huge garden at home too. the way she eats is actually very close to what this diet suggests.

i'd miss all the local beers from the Midwest though. :p

The only thing I'd get is oranges and tomatoes within 100 miles :p

you could still buy all of the awesome local products that help feed the restaurant industry in the big apple. There are a few good new york wineries as well, but i only know some that are near the CDN border so those are out of range:p
