Her picks are usually crappy guys. I wish just for ONCE she'd find someone that'd be great to her. Her ex before that guy was ing horrible to her and would insult her all the time and made her cry all the time and though they would break up she'd always take him back because she was lonely. I really don't know what to tell her anymore. Oh and she can't have buddies because after ing them she gets ATTACHED. It's one problem after the other. |
your friend needs to like herself enough to not put up with such bull . if this is a pattern there is something she needs to fix about herself. i don't think there is anything you can say this is somethign she has to figure out herself. perhaps i'm a bad friend but with at least one of my friends in a similar situation i just stopped giving them sympathy. i can only call someone the devil so many times and point out how many times they've been cheated on or treated badly before i give up. i pointed out they were the one with the issue for continuing to take their ex back, they aren't tied together so why take the abuse is how i see it. |

The funny thing is she has a huge ego lol. Or maybe it's all an act. But she thinks she's hot and amazing and tells people that all the time.....yet she gets with guys who bring her down all the time. I don't understand her. I agree with what you're saying though. Enough is enough. I can only tell her so many times. She also gets pissed at me when I tell her the truth (her getting attached to guys, etc) but I'm not going to be fake like the rest of her friends are. They are all like "awwww I'm happy for you" and then when she isn't around they are like "yeah, she's stupid". She wonders why she can't find someone good for her but it's because she clings on to losers like her ex. She doesn't know what she wants. I think I am going to tell her that I can't be there for her anymore. She got upset with me when I told her that she ed up by going back to him and said "why is everyone ganging up on me? I was going after the guy I love and everyone thinks I'm stupid because of it" and it's like well wtf clearly he doesn't love you. Why do you have to go back to him? He isn't the only guy in the world. Yes you love him and yes it hurts but seriously, wtf? |

i'm not sure, people who really are totally ok with themselves don't need to say it. also it isn't like you aren't going to be there for her, it's more like you refuse to be an enabler. being direct is the best but if you have the same conversation over and over again i say just avoid that subject matter. i sound mean but i went through the same thing with a roommate for 8 solid months and after a while it finally sank in that their relationship was completely dysfunctional. |

Well, usually, the bigger the ego (and the need to tell everyone else about how awesome one is), the more insecure the person, as far as I'm aware of. |

Yeah she gets really defensive when I tell her "wtf are you doing? Don't you see what he's doing to you?" but I've had enough. The next time he leaves her she better not think about coming to me. I'm tired of it. I'm tired of trying to help her out and then after she's done crying she does whatever she wants again. I think she thinks I'm jealous that she "has" the guy she loves or something. I will still continue being her friend and all but the next time it happens I'm going to be like "sucks to be you".
