lol. I have loads of clothes with me but they all fit in a carry on with wheels. It isn't that difficult to lug your around. If I can do it in heels - a dude can do it.
It's only a weekend trip. |
lol true story, but even *I* have to agree with brad...I love taking car service!! LOL.
(maybe not when I was in college and poor, but if you can spare the dough, why not?)
so much easier to enjoy the scenery (or read emails or whatever) and go door-to-door without carrying ;) I will keep my lifting for the gym ;) |

laguardia is just too far from brooklyn.. not worth it. Plus the 2.25 leaves more room for party favors buahahaha jk! :p
We did it last year going to detroit... our car service prob hated us.. but he liked meee :) lol. It just looks retarded that we are much closer to JFK.. MUCH and we have a brooklyn car svc taking us to LGA. |

damn dude, why dont you write a list of questions and we can answer them all at once. ;) LOL
If you take a cab, you will see Citifeild. Cabs from ANY NYC airport is $45 to **anywhere** in Manhattan, flat rate. The only other expense you would have to pay is the bridges or tunnels or tip. ($5-8 for a bridge or tunnel)
From, LGA, the best bet is to take the M60 bus, which take you right to upper manhattan. Its $2.25, playable by metro card or CHANGE ONLY. no dollar bills, so bring quarters. Its a very short trip by car, but since the bus stops every 2 blks its probably a bit longer, butwill save you loads of money. I would really figure out where you are staying first tho, before you consider which you would prefer to take (cab or bus).
lol @ andrew, always being a comedian. :toothless |
actually, cabs from la guardia are not flat rate anymore. the meter runs, and it usually costs about 20 to get to penn station. |

it's a 10 hour affair. just fly. continental runs between EWR and Montreal usually for about USD 250. Not sure about other airlines. |

in college i would fly from any NYC airport if the fare was right. now, i only fly out of terminal C in EWR, regardless of price. It's interesting how the older you get (EDIT - the older I get) the more you (I) pay to avoid inconvenience. |

i dunno bout lga and trains really, i think the closest is prob the 7 by citi-field but dont quote me
as for randalls island you will need to either take a bus or a cab because no train goes there
i belive if your comming from jfk tho its 45 bucks to anywhere in manhattan plus the bridge toll is another $5.50
if you are takeing the bus to randalls island, i would deff suggest you go to the mta's website or look at a bus stop to see whats the latest time the bus stops running, cause its a pretty far hike back over the bridge to manhattan |

I'm starting to notice that too lol. Just the other day me and my girl decided to get delivery from Ikea and just have them lug all our new furniture up to the top floor rather than do it ourselves. 5 years ago I would have never even considered it. :P |

ooh really? I didnt know that! I have never flown from LGA though, strangely enough!
and yes, the train took us 12 hours!!! sooo slow and not worth it!! it was about $80 each way when we went to MTL last year, so that sounds about right! never again, tho!!
as for getting older, you are 100% correct. But I also think it has to do with the fact that we EARNED our careers! why do that anymore? I worked hard enough to get my degrees for a bigger paycheck so that I CAN avoid inconveniences! :) :) |

best bet is to get off on the N/W line at Astoria Blvd. right down stairs is the M60 bus that takes u to LGA in no more than 15 mins.
but i wouldnt know how to get to randalls island from there.. i dont even know how to get there from brooklyn and i hear driving is a hot mess.
so that is gonna blow +1000000 :( |
