PvD @CP , no longer with MADE?

This may have been mentioned but, whats with PVD not working with made?
I dont really remember what tiks cost in the past for hudson and CP but $115 for 2 tiks shipped seems high. Anyone else?
Is he getting greedy or was there some beef with him and MADE? both?
Sorry if this has been posted already. I went back 5 pages and did a search and didnt see anything. |

| There was a discussion about this at some point but I don't think it was ever a dedicated thread. Basically (as far as I remember) nobody really knew. Some say Live Nation stole him away with more money / advertising, some say Made Events dropped him because he wasn't bringing enough people for the money. Curious myself why, especially since PvD thanked Mike in the booklet of his last album (so they had to have had a good relationship). We may never know for sure.. |

It was originally discussed here. My assumption is is that with Electric Zoo this year, I don't think it would make sense for Madeevent to do a Summerstage at the end of August, only to do the Zoo festival the very next week or so.
Also having large show like PvD @ Summerstage before the Zoo festival would be too much money to spend. |

no one really knows the story except for made event and pvd
i can only say that recently he left pam dj's which was his booking agent in the states...so maybe his new booking agent deals with live nation, or since made is doing the big electric zoo festival, they most likely asked him to come and play but he probly wants to do his own show so he went with live nation...again nothing is confirmed it just what i think
i hope he goes back with made cause they put on some quality shows in the past |

his new booking agency is his Agency in Germany, a lot of promoters that had pvd where no one else could get him just lost him. Who knows if it was the right thing to do but PVD shows were getting less attendance as of late so I am sure it has something to do with everything. Either way I am pretty pissed there has not been a show at the roseland since october (i think thats when it was) |

Well , to me it just feels a little different even though I havent been to CP under nation.
Yeah I dont know whats with PvD not being in NY for so long , but I am not so sad about roseland. I like that the venue is big and easy to get around with all the bathrooms but the sound is just lacking! Compared to a real club id say roseland gets 85% the way there. Just my 2c .

| pvd played roseland in december. that was it tho as far as i remember. and yea the CP party lost its luster. hope its better? |

I'm pretty sure Mike hit the nail on the head...
Made is probably busy as with Electric Zoo, they'd never be able to do a PVD show the weekend before. |

| He should have played Electric Zoo. I mean, give a little back to the promotors that have paid your bills here for the last decade. |

| I doubt electric zoo was the only reason tho since promoters are fiercely territorial of artists. If they had a good relationship and Paul was bringing in the money Mike would find a way to make him happy as opposed to risk losing him to another promoter. |

PvD played at the Pier in August and Roseland in December...
not to mention Boston in sept....
and as for him playing at the EZNY- i would expect that he has his own expectations on being in huge headlining gigs like summerstage and has no need to rush around and throw down a 1 hour set in what is probably in his mind an over booked FIRST time festival in a city he thinks he already owns. and as Mike said- Made has more to make in the long run from EZNY and DROPPING PvSuckass we are talking immediate gratification as well as long term happy endings for these guys.
in a couple years if this all turns out well, PvSuckass will want to headline and they will probably let him and Armin will be the one stepping aside...
sad....but maybe thatll give us back our Armin only...that we are MISSING THIS YEAR thank you for closing down mccarren park pool :( pooooop on you all! |
