Yea those inconvenience charges are a crock of . I try to never buy tickets online through any vendors for this reason alone.

I have not used ticketmaster in a long time...I have used others...but I have NEVER seen a fee to print my own ticket!

What?? I've always had to pay a stupid fee for "convenience" sake. Even if I printed my own ticket there was a 1.50 added on for no reason.

Don't be silly, there's a very important reason: it compensates for their inability to rip you off on delivery charges.

Wasn't there a class-action lawsuit against Ticketmaster alleging something similar to scalping? What happened to that?

nope - it was re: them redirecting buyers to a dif site with more expensive tickets (I think)
it was over some band's concert tickets

No, I'm sure TicketMaster has had to deal with many lawsuits, but the one I'm referring to was definitely about ticket prices and "convenience" fees. In fact, Google's telling me that there may actually be two of these.

Well, in this case...for a $29.50 ticket the fees are:

Convenience Charge $4.50
Building Facility Charge $1.50
and ticket printing charge $1.75

Total - $7.75

or 26.3% on top of the ticket price! NUTS....

as I said earlier...I have encountered the first two before (and I hate them and think it's always too much and provides no added value)

But I have never seen the ticket printing fee before on other services, such as wantickets.

ticket at rotate this, soundscapes and play de record have no service charge

ya, they do....but they appear to be less than ticketmaster....but some of them only take cash payments, no debit or credit cards...

rotate this acually has the ticket price listed on their website for $25.50..probably a mistake as everyone else is $29.50

I am going to wait for Jeff Button to post the guest list price...then decide the best option!
