yea the lack of tactile feedback is a step backwards in mobile technology in my opinion.

It's annoying as hell. Phones are suppose to have buttons

I used to be good at T9 till I got a BlackBerry Curve on 2007-10-01. Never looking back. All of my primary phones (I have 6 phones & 11 SIM cards total) must have a real keyboard & not that stinky T9 or even SureType (split QWERTY with 2 letters per key) .

how big are those screens/letters? how accurate is it when you are typing on the screen with your fingers?

my fingers aren't that big; but i'd assume that i'd still hit the wrong key(s). i do it enough on my regular samsung w/ t9 sometimes (hitting zero instead of eight)

On the screen? It's a normal configuration like you have on a normal phone but the buttons are bigger and definitely bigger than the iPhone. I guess big enough for these idiots above me to text while driving

I never use that though. I flip it open and use the full qwerty keyboard with actual keys. Surprisingly they are very easy to use and since they are raised I never miss a button. Remember I'm 197cm so my giant hands work fine with it, so will yours ;)

Seriously...Nokia N97 is an absolute beast of a phone.

t9 rocks, so does qwerty keyboards

xt9, on the other hand, is massive fail.

Different purposes/countries.

My primary devices are a BlackBerry 8900 & Nokia N95-3. I also have several watch phones since 2007 and a Sony Ericsson Z750a (debranded to Z750i). I have the SE because it was the only affordable non-Windows Mobile phone I could find that had tri-band UMTS (850/1900/2100 MHz; my N95-3 has just 850/1900 and the BlackBerry doesn't have 3G at all). I have the BlackBerry for typing & calls and N95-3 for video & GPS (BB does not let you download maps to memory card and use w/o mobile data).

As for the SIM cards, I have four US (2 used almost exclusively in Canada to save on roaming charges), three UK (again, different purposes), and the remainder are international SIMs, which have free incoming calls in a number of countries.

Qwerty > T9 > alphanumeric

but

T9 for one hand = win... I do miss that (for driving/masturbating)
