Wow...no idea why I came back to this thread but good thing eh?

Find me some stuff that sounds like the S&D 2001-2002 tunes and I'll believe you.

How's about you give me some examples of this good prog you mentioned?

I believe that was the point of the mix. I take it you didn't care for it?

Let me know? I wasn't the one who made this mix. :p

I know that I was kinda hitting two birds with one stone with that reply. Lol.

I def think there is still good prog around. It's just a different variety of it. I think now though even really proggy stuff people are trying to make it proggy but also able to be thrown on at the club. Seems in the past there were no strings in the creation of proggy stuff and hence it just had a more unique sound. I like both the older stuff and the newer stuff.

K just got done with this. There were some very very good tracks in here which I'm going to have to pick up. Mixing was solid as well; there were a couple times where levels seemed a little uneven and things got loud but it wasn't bothersome to me.

I would have built up the set differently but I still enjoyed it immensely. I also wasn't a fan of the vocal track; it just seemed to cut off the amazing flow you had built up until that.

Will look for your mixes more in the future!

Thanks for listening. I know that levels and EQing are definitely the weak point in my mixes - sometimes the transitions get quite loud.

The set structure, as usual, was completely different when I first started finding tracks for this. It always changes a lot, usually when I found out things aren't in key and so can't go together.

sounds like you could enjoy my latest mix!!!!

anyway, good melodic prog is something of a rarity these days because the sound has become so commoditized (as is now happening in the world of electro, unfortunately). so i'll be listening to this mix keenly, j

Yeah everything before the vocal I loved. I wish you would have made one big energy transition instead of going up in energy then back down at the end. The deeper stuff you played was amazing; wasn't a fan of the uplifting stuff though.

Nice job.
