May be you can try smaller flash with different directions...just a thought... or flash in the hand from various angles... |
Thanks for the advice, ill try that out |

even using the widest aperture sometimes you want the shutter as slow as 1/4 second.. depending on lighting. |

then you should push the ISO and go as low as 1/25 or if your hands are stead slower at 1/10.
Higher iso produces grain, but its not like you're going to print any of them. |

New cameras give you good results even on high iso settings...and plus there so many options to reduce grain on the computer...
Few advice for you to get decent results on low speed...
Small camera is easy to handle and carry.. Also, people won't notice it sometimes...Depends how you wanna act but it is sometimes better to act like an amateur...especially in China town.. ;)
Single fast lens will give you sharper and better results...Like f1.2 or 1.4 Though remember this quote.. "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept" H. Cartier Bresson
Go with 28 or 35 mm lens sometimes...Your zoom lens might be fast but there are more lens elements than single lens.. so you loose details, sharpness and fastness... All my RF and SLR cameras have single lens...
So, what is your set up when you go to night shots??? Always get a small table tripod with you, it is gonna help you a lot... You can even use your chest as support with small tripod... |

i can talk all i want buddy, been doing this since 2002. :p
With an SLR you don't need a tripod, any size, in a club. You need to know how to use your camera properly. |

lol I have such mixed feelings about Jelo now
His opening set was pretty good. It was different than anything Ive ever heard. It wasnt too electroy. There was something deranged and spacey about it. It got me dancing rather hard. There were two tracks that I described as 'the worst noise I have ever heard' which forced me off the dance floor.
His closing set was HORRIBLE. Elecro hell. But EVERYONE seemed to LOVE it so I know its just a music taste issue.
I described Jelo's sets as the following:
"Jelo's opening set made me want to take back all the bad things I've said about him. His closing set is exactly all the bad things I've ever said about him."
Had a chance to talk to him. Super nice dude :) And was a MUCH better opener than Evan G. |
