I disagree. There are quite a few NYC locals who've done quite an impressive job opening. They know their roles and the music of the DJs that they're opening for quite often.

If I remember, you guys in LA don't seem to enjoy that. Who was that guy that opened for Sasha that used to play Usher tracks?

Mark Tabberner. The only time he ever plays is opening for Sasha, and it's only because he is/was married to Sasha's sister/cousin/something.

We have locals in LA that know how to properly open a club, but for every awesome opener there's about 5 "I just started DJing 2 years ago and don't know what flow is" type of DJs :p

I know perry farrell ( vocalist of JA and Porno for pyros ) gets booed alot , I think it was 2 years ago at coachella where he decided enough is enoughand decided to quit.

Digweed had a bad time last year at Amnesia Ibiza , people were giving him a hard time chanting" Edie edie edie".. throughout his whole set because eddie haliwell was coming on next .

When I saw 2 Many DJs they went down really well, but they were obviously playing a completely pre-planned set, and they didn't have any records left at the end when the crowd were shouting for one more tune. So they were loudly booed as they went off, minutes after tearing up.

yup, they always play pre-planned sets. Sometimes they even dare to play pre-recorded sets while they are pretending to DJ :stongue:

anyhow, a month ago they also played at the mainstage of Werchter 2009 here in Belgium and again it was really abvious they pre-planned the whole thing. This time they tried to be innovative by broadcasting on a big screen the records they were mixing. Afterwards they even got great comments from critics and press for their set and because of the novelty of there performance. Ridiculous :haha:

wasn't throughout the whole set at all! it was only when eddie came into the box about 70mins into digweeds set to get a drink that the beer boys at the front started chanting, started again then near the end of his set :)

Yep Woody Van Eyden at Passion England.

Think he followed JFK and opened with some sort of intro track that had the accappella "bass in your mother ing face" goin over the top. This intro seemed to go on for ages with everyones hopeful expectations turning to impatience and finally boredom. I remember thinking that when the beat finally kicks in, its sure to have a big monster bass line after the intro accappella but it didn't at all. So by the second track, the packed dancefloor had emptied by a third. 20 mins later over half had gone to sat down.

When towards the end he dropped some remix of a current pop tune (i forget what) the boos started and the " off you c*nt" shouts could be heard.

For a club who's crowd are some of the most devoted trance followers out there, it took a truly awful trance set to get this kind of reaction.

Then Guy Ornadel came on and it was all good from there :)

That is harsh! I'd like to know the name of the pop song.

lmaooo, i threw a water bottle at tiesto, and he jus dodged it and smiled back.

People like you need to be castrated and locked up. FFS, DJs come out to play and entertain people and wits like you throw at them.

Maybe you just belong in Sydney where regardless of which DJ or band is playing and how much they are tearing it up, some idiot will always decide to be funny and throw something at them. Then security picks them up and rightfully rapes them somewhere out the back

I'd be quite entertained in seeing Tiesto hit in the head with a water bottle. I say he should take a few for my bemusement.

That's irrelevant. Whether you like the DJ or not doesn't make a difference. People who throw things are idiots.
