Moral Hazard
Accutron Lucerne (this is the current model, mine is a little different)

Rolex Oyster datejust (this is the perpetual model, mine is not)

Mount Royal Hunter pocket watch

I also have a silver pocket watch that was my grandfathers; however, I don't know the make/model so I can't find a photo.

lol while I appreciate the craftsmanship or whatever that goes into making such a timepiece I think the vast majority of these watches are way to chunky, blingy and ostentatious and generally in the worst possible taste. Someone could spend a lot of time and money picking an immaculately tailored suit, and shirt and trying to be as subtly classy as possible and completely destroy the entire effect by strapping one of these monstrosities to their wrist.. The only people these things really "suit" are gangsta rappers.

this is the watch i am getting repaired as we speak. It is costing me almost 300 bucks to restore because it sat in a drawer for 20 years, had it been wound and maintained it would still work as these were built like tanks and are great watches.

Swap for a new strap, replace the tuning fork (don't make them anymore and the parts were $$$ to find original), and do a battery conversion (don't make the battery anymore either) as well as a clean and polish. Its taken over 2 months but it should be ready in a week or 2.

i know it isn't as modern as the other ones posted, but as a collection piece with sentimental value i look forward to sporting it:)

Though I'm not a fan of gold and that watch might not suit my taste I think it has more class than most of the chunky flashy pieces of posted so far.

hublot has some pretty subtle pieces too, just not the one you posted. :p

some watches really do look like pieces of , for example, this one made by jacob & co which costs at least 20 grand.

but I mean, some of the watch brands like Patek, Audemars Piguet and A. Lange & Sohne are just collectors items really. Few people would really wear blingy watches and I mean, why would you pay 25k for a simple watch with no other complications. So it has to be made from some sort of rose gold for people to deem that those 25k 'subtle' watches are worth it, along with the watch company.

i'm not a fan of gold either (i'm not that italian:p)

it was my grandfathers watch though, so like i said the sentimental value will help me get over the gold thing. Plus it is cool to be able to walk around with a watch on that you know no one else will have.:)

moral is a pimp:p

really like that pocket watch.

Yeah what I like about it is the design has very definite 50s/60s elements to it.. so it has the same kind of appeal that antiques have for some people.. like you're wearing a real piece of history on your wrist. It's a cool watch. I think one of the reasons I'd dish out a lot of cash for a good watch is that the ******s last forever if they're taken care of so u can pass it down for quite a few generations.

i managed to find extra parts for it if anything ever happens to it again. The thing is there might not be anyone to fix it by then, because they have not made watches with these parts like these since 1977. The guy doing the repair is over 70.

many places i brought it to would not touch it because they did not know how.

Yeah I know there are some classy watches around.. It just bothers me a bit that there's a market for super expensive and super tacky ... Can't hep but feel I deserve that money more than the dumbasses that buy these things :stongue:
