The outfit does depend on the position you work... but you can dress nicely even without wearing a suit.
But you've got it backwards my British friend. I am the owner of my company and make hiring decisions. And I don't hire people who look like slackers if they are to be dealing with the public. ;) |
What does your company do? |

It is a consulting engineering firm. We do building assessments for different types of contamination (chemical/bio) and write protocol on how to remove it in accordance with OSHA standards... redesign mechanical systems inside the buildings if that's the source of the problem... stuff like that. |

Do you work with any root cause analysis? |

that's part of every assessment we do... we always make sure we're identifying the source and solving the problem from there, rather than treating the symptoms of the issue or masking it. Building owners/manager here are personally responsible for the health of their occupants by Supreme Court mandate (sadly, many don't even realize that), and it's in their best interest to make sure their problems, if they are real, are properly addressed at the root. |

I am always shocked when I see people show up for interviews dressed like bums. Retards. I once showed up for one looking kind of bummy and the first thing I brought up was the fact that I wasn't particularly well dressed and whether or not that bothered the guy who was interviewing me. It did, so I pretty much knew at that point that I wasn't getting the job.Whatever, guy was one of the biggest dicks I've ever met, so I didn't really care.
btw I guess this is as good a place to ask as any...Where is that acapella in Save the Unicorns from? Seriously can't get it out of my head. Listened to this set like 3 times in the past 2 days:p |

i dress in nice suits and people fear me. I have a nice Michael Kors watch but cannot find a pic.
I always wear a suit and tie. I hated it at first, but now I don't care, just another uniform to wear. |

we use Bayesian inference sometimes to show the probabilities of where the contamination is (or isn't) originating from. We work in conjunction with a couple different chemical analysis and microbiology labs that have their own complex algorithms that we use... sometimes the KT Process... it depends on the situation really. |

No... we are not big enough to utilize a company like that; we would be more inclined to use a company like that if we needed ways to figure out how to help ourselves find ways to operate more efficiently, but since the client and situation always varies, it's not practical. But I've heard of them- I know they work with people like Lockeed Martin and NASA and . I doubt we could afford their services anyway...lol. |
