Dana White expressed great interest in getting Fedor in UFC to fight Lesner.
| quote: | | With Lesnar's current streak of wins over Heath Herring, then-champ Randy Couture and now Mir, many are looking to possible future opponents for the seemingly invincible ground-and-pound machine. Emelianenko, the former longtime PRIDE heavyweight champion, is the man many see as most likely to topple Lesnar. At 30-1, with back-to-back Affliction wins over two former UFC champions (Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski) and a 26-0 record (with one no-contest) over the past nine years, many fans are clamoring for the Russian fighter to take on the top talent in the world's premier fight organization. "This Fedor thing has gone on and on and on," White said in the post-UFC 100 press conference. "Eventually, Fedor's going to be here. I want Fedor. I want him to come to the UFC and everything else. "This guy (Brock Lesnar) just won the heavyweight title, and we'll end up getting that deal done. And then we'll do Brock vs. Fedor, and it'll be a huge fight." |

stupid management
| quote: | Dana White hints UFC signing heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko now unlikely
Despite perhaps the most advanced negotiations ever between the two parties, the Ultimate Fighting Championship is unlikely to sign Fedor Emelianenko to a UFC deal.
UFC president Dana White today suggested he gave his best effort but that ultimately even offering Emelianenko "the most amazing deal" wasn't enough.
As Emelianenko's manager, M-1 Global co-owner and president Vadim Finkelchtein, suggested during a Wednesday press conference, the UFC's refusal to co-promote shows with M-1 was likely the negotiations' biggest hurdle.
"How are they going to help us co-promote?" White said. "They're going to help us? That [expletive] might work in Russia (but) not here."
So if Finkelchtein backed down from that specific demand, would a deal be done?
"We'd be announcing it right now," White said.
White, who's gone back and forth with praise and criticism of the former longtime PRIDE champion during years of on-again, off-again negotiations, said ultimately he wanted to sign Emelianenko (30-1) because the fans want him, and the best fights possibly, so badly.
"We did everything possible for this deal," White said. "We didn't hold back. It's crazy to turn down a deal like this. ... How do you deal with something like this?"
White, though, initially was confident a deal would be reached. In fact, he said he hasn't completely shut the door on the possibility.
"I was so confident we were going to get this done," he said. "I went in (to the negotiations) with the mindset that we were going to get this done.
"I'm ready to make a deal. If they want to make a deal, they can call me right now."
Earlier today Finkelchtein issued a statement that rumors of the offered deal being worth up to $30 million were incorrect and likely came from the UFC's side of the negotiations.
"It is unfortunate that so much incorrect information has been leaked to the public," Finkelchtein stated. "It is M-1's preference not to negotiate in public, and we are unsure why people claim that Fedor and M-1 turned down a six-fight, $30 million contract to fight in the UFC when no such offer was ever made.
"All we are asking is that there is give-and-take in the negotiations and that they are not one-sided." |

I love Fedor but hate his management.
I would love for Fedor to come to UFC for one fight and destroy brock than leave to go fight freaks in Japan for the rest of his career. |
