| this poll is so hilarious when you stop and think about it... a bunch of overeager fans voting for their own ticket price hikes for the simple pleasure of doing so... "yay armin is #1 in a magazine i don't even subscribe to or read! now i can pay $60 to go hear him mix cds when it cost me $20 2 years ago! yup... i did that to myself! can't wait to vote again next year!" |

Thats why everyone should vote for the dj's they hate the most and the dj's they like wont win and the ticket prices for the good dj's will be low. |

2. Above & Beyond
3. Ferry Corsten
4. Martin Roth
5. Armin van Buuren
I'm sure Armin will win anyway, so thought I'd give some others a chance. I agree with Above & Beyond that the DJMag poll is a "necessary evil."
If nobody voted, we probably wouldn't know who Armin van Buuren was over here in the States. The poll is based in Europe and that's where the best music is at imo. By gaining top 30 or so status, clubs are willing to book these DJ's and bring them across the Atlantic for us to hear.
I know there are those who will disagree, but this is why I vote (except last year when I forgot until it was too late). :) |

| i knew who armin was before i knew what djmag was. i'm willing to bet most people can say the same. a&b will say it's a necessary evil because they use it as a platform to charge a king's ransom just to play cds in front of a crowd. there are plenty of djs in europe who have never made it to the djmag top list who still get booked in the united states. the only difference is they charge a reasonable fee and don't have their heads up their asses. it might be your reason for validating djmag's poll, but the premise is flawed. |
