Re-read my original post regarding that. I said OUTSIDE the US. /end |
This is what you said.
"what are some things that the US can take to implement in our system to create a universal healthcare system that either rivals, or exceeds, the quality elsewhere?"
I took aspects of the Japanese healthcare system and applied it to the USA. |

Do companies not pay into it as it is outside the US? |

I think it's safe to say that Ted Kennedy doesn't go to Denmark for his healthcare because he can afford not to. Universal health care isn't about improving options for the rich - it's about maintaining options for the rich while improving options for those that can't currently afford it.
The goal is to increase access society-wide, and for that reason alone I think there's a great deal to be learned from Denmark and other countries that offer wider coverage. |

Did you see that Frontline thing I posted earlier in the thread? Really good. Although I wish they touched on the French system. |

| To be honest I don't know the ins and outs of the policy debate on this one as well as other areas. However, when I was studying in Denmark we did field research on Danish opinions about government, etc. and healthcare received very high marks. Nearly everyone asked said that they would rather pay more into the system than less (with the understanding that more meant wider coverage and less meant lower taxes with less coverage). The same cannot be said in the US, where nearly everyone gripes about hospital costs. |

Yeah, there are a lot of things that the Frontline segment touches on, but I still have a lot of questions that they don't touch on. Even so, it is still a very informative, even though it is brief, and well done bout. Check it out. |

WHAT?! lol how do you deal with that?! haha sometimes I wish there was more motivation to just say the computer, but I need to finish being responsible first. The internet is a cheap and easy way to save money. |
