It's just another stereotype, the "snobby materialistic Jewish girl with rich doctor-lawyer parents."

i'm a minimal fan...but without being too barren looking. i love lots of colorful accents in a white/neutral room. dark wood only (espresso color).
here's some examples of what i like, more or less

very nice. gonna have a look at those links.
and lol zipnf yea it's a different kind of "jap" :p
my mom learned a lot and she didn't have to know the language fluently in order to teach it. she has a 2 year criminal justice degree and paralegal school (she's a paralegal) and she was able to get a job with an L.A. based company. they put her up in a house and everything. she learned a lot, i was really impressed with her. she became a member at her local video store and everything (they always had subtitles). it was funny when i'd visit her and we'd rent a movie and it was freezing (winter) and all she had were kerosene heaters that you had to put fluid in and everything lol
you'd be surprised in most of japan, the houses are pretty old school. i mean i'm sure it's different now because this was 10 years ago when i was there but the average household didn't even have a washer/dryer, let alone a computer in the house. i guess that's most of the rural areas. you'd think the whole country would be super high tech, and they are...just not in the homes. in the big cities, i'm sure it's a different story. |

Jamie, your examples are mostly perfect for me... especially the first few shots. I don't care how gay it makes me. I like it fairly minimalistic, but with something more eclectic or colorful to mix it up a bit and give a focal point.
I'm also a fan of darker colors, but thick white trim (crown moulding, baseboards, etc.) |

exactly.
and yea the pictures i posted are "more or less" what i would do. some of them were a little too busy for me but i still posted because there was something about it i liked (the art or the chairs).
in that picture that mrjivebojingles said the art was huge and loud, i would keep the art, and get rid of all the other clutter on the table and even those orchids. the picture is plenty of an accessory to that room. take away all that other and it would complement the room nicely i think.
*edit* this one

I don't know... Tampa/St. Pete, Orlando or Ft. Lauderdale. I have good friends in all 3 places, but I'm most familiar with the Tampa Bay area from growing up there, and Orlando from being there 5 years. I'll go anywhere really, if the price is right. I'm part owner of a consulting firm for environmental engineering. But I'm not sure if I want to do the same thing. Business development, business retention, and project management are my specialites these days. |

Recently ive been putting alot of thought into interior decorating on my house. I gonna go with oak floors & white moldings. Trying the 5 1/4 victorian base with some decorative casing & crown as well. Kinda like the pic below. Its an older house so im trying to give it character.

Those are some pretty solid companies... I don't know if they'd even be interested in me with just 7 years of experience (although mostly at the exec. level). But hey, it can't hurt to find out right? I can sell myself pretty well once I get in front of people. Tell you what... if I got hired because of a referral from you, I'd give you a $5,000 kickback ;)
Oh, and on a side note, "Bitch... you walk around wit yo' bra too tight. It's aiight, you still gonna get ed tonight!" :stongue: |

i'm a big fan of oak floors over carpeting in the major areas of a house (living room/den/etc) not a fan of white moldings. then again, it may be based on the type of house. i've seen some houses who put moldings in doorways, and it looks real ugly. |
