I hooked up a 30"
HDTVs suck as monitors imo. The pixel pitch is not good enough for text. |

My friend has the nastiest set up. He had one of these $5000 gaming laptops (http://www.sagernotebook.com/default.php) on which he played supreme commander on. And on the wall was a 50" flat screen LCD tv which had the strategic view of the map. So he's bee playing on the laptop, and looking up at the tv, to see the map and radar pings. Epic. |

Thats fine for a twitch RTS like SupCom but I been playing ArmA 2 online a bunch lately with a tactical realism unit and that game the sharper the image the better. You have to make out those tangos at 1500 meters or you are dead... :D |

Not sure how good OFP2 is going to be.
ArmA 2 is the direct descendant from the original OFP.
ArmA has its bugs, but OFP2 looks to be more action than simulation.
ArmA shines online, it has a few issues with lag and syncing when there is lots of players on a server (like 35+) or when lots of people are flying.
Domination mode is ing swee though when you get people actually playing nicely together. Takes about 4 hours to work through a single round, moving from town to town clearing enemies and destroying targets. |
