Genius group.
It pisses me off to no end that these ing retards working cash, pretty much EVERYWHERE, feel the need to hand me the bill first, or worse, sometimes hand me the bill WITH the change piled into it.
It's like: "You can't even hand change back properly? No wonder you're stuck at this job."
What makes it even sadder, and more annoying, is that people who hand change back properly are RARE. I would estimate that at least 90% of the cashiers I have to deal with on a daily basis hand me the bill first, or with the change piled on it.
It's ing stupid, and I don't understand how they don't figure it out by the end of their first day on the job.
When I started working cash at Little Ceasar's back when I was 15, it took me 2, count em, TWO customers to figure out "Oh , this works better if I hand them their change first!"
The only thing worse than having the bill handed over first are those filthy bastards who won't even hand you your change, just slide it on over the table and make you pick it up off the counter. I bitch these ones out and ruin their day, it makes me feel better. |

Do you do it on purpose to achieve that one small victory in your day spent at a dead-end cashier job? Or are you just a moron? |

How do you know that 'most' people prefer the bill first? Do you ask each of your customers how they feel about the change being handed back to them? Are you completely oblivious to the annoyed expression on their face as they have to shuffle the coins around on their hand while they remove the bill from the bottom of the pile?
I didn't need to ask people how they liked me handing their change to them. I piled coins on the bill one time, and then I took my cue from the extra 5-10 seconds it took the guy to shuffle the coins around from under the bill, when I should have handed him his coins first.
Most people are just too stupid to know there's a better way to get their change back, because, like I said, 90% of you hand the bill back first, so they're used to it.
The benefit of handing back change the correct way, is that I can use the hand full of coins to put the bill back in my wallet BEFORE I pocket the coins, or pocket the coins right-quick before you hand me the bill, or drop the coins in my pocket with the bill safely pinched between my fingers. If the coins are piled on top, it adds a whole level of effort that's simply unnecessary. And the only valid excuse for doing it is to be an ass who enjoys watching customers struggle with the change. Any other excuse is immediately invalid because piling the coins on top of the bill is simply the WRONG way to do it.
By the way, bill first, with the coins coming after, but not piled on top the bill is also acceptable. The problem is when idiots pile the coins on top. |
