I often have to write checks for people in my line of work. I fertilize lawns up in a city north of Toronto that's 75% immigrated Italian. So when they want to pay for the service and I'm there at the house, they regularly have me write the check out, and all they do is sign it.
Probably for the best. The company I work for is called "Green Lawn", one poor guy gave me a check one day when I did the service, and now he's on credit hold (and possibly being sent to collections) because he wrote the check out to "Lawn Weed" and my company couldn't cash it. |
