See… minimal fans think that being a minimal fan lets them into some big secret that nobody else gets. They think that only a select few can decode this ‘’super intelligent’’ music but the fact of the matter is, any idiot can understand minimal because its hidden appeal lies in the fact that it gives the illusion of being electronic music for smart people. So as long as there’s something on the record to ‘’figure out’’ or ‘’interpret’’, it’s going to make some college kid feel smart.

I am deeply saddened and dismayed to learn that all this time I have been misconceiving anything that exploits that sort of use of repetition, and understated development to be minimal.
From now on instead of just calling everything minimal there shall be a second category to use for classification purposes. Dull-Minimal- and Dull--That-Is -Trying-To-Sound-Like-Minimal-But-Is-Not.
Take for example Andains beautiful things. While that track was just perfect for my sweet fluffy immature taste in music... Andains new single is just far too repetitive and understated to appeal to me being that my record collection only consists of old Clovis favorites, Alice dj euro, Sonique anthems, Madonna remixes and old Paul Van Dyk tracks full of plur like every other person on the planet who thinks that this minimal bull is just a bunch of drum loops trying to pass itself as intelligent dance music.
Maybe abolishing the melody all-together for the sakes of DJs not having to worry about clashing is a wonderful idea. Then we will have Dull-Minimal-, Dull--That-Is -Trying-To-Sound-Like-Minimal-But-Is-Not. and Really_Really_Minimal_Dull_.
With the help of a new piece of software called ReallyMinimal™ and endorsed by Richie Hawtin we can abolish melody all together! This revolutionary new software will force all the tunes in atony and replace complex passages with drum loops and reverse effects so the music can fit in every mnml & tech house trying to be djs set until the end of time.

Besides, interesting music is made by throwing chunks of loops into a grid ;)
