most pilots do have that douche attitude; but some don't. you really get a better understanding if you are actually in the military, though.

Yea its probably different, though I do run into a lot of AF pilots around where I live since McChord AFB is right outside the city.

They are all C-17 pilots though for the most part, they are pretty chill. They work in teams and actually fly probably the most combat missions out of everyone.

Navy fighter jocks, those guys are the ones that really think they are of the walk. To be honest they are allowed to. I'd be scared less landing a ing multimillion dollar aircraft on a multibillion dollar postage stamp, especially at night... :p

He's my definition of tough, hands down.

But, even though I think being tough (like Simo) is a laudable characteristic (the guy was a bloody farmer protecting his territory from an entire army), this trait can be so easily vulgarised that it is far from being praiseworthy when dimwits think being tough is destroying/killing everything they dislike/feel threatened/offended by. "Oooh, you cut me in traffic? No one does that to me, I'm tough, you're going to pay for that!! You looked at my girlfriend? Now take a look at my knuckles!!!"

I tend to value clever people way more than the tougher-than-though vindictive kind of guy/girl.

One of my best friends is a Marine and he works on F/A-18s, and he's constantly talking about the pilots.

Thats cause they fly his planes.

All the ground crew people I talk to consider the planes theirs, pilots only borrow them. :p

That guy's shawshank-redemption-style escape from a russian gulag and the 12000 km journey through Siberia are downright impressive.

I'm sure lenazi is proud about this :p

I had this done when I was little. The two bottom middle teeth grew behind the old ones. Had to get the front ones yanked out without any anesthetic and they weren't even slightly loose.

Yes....it hurts like an absolute bitch and to be honest I'd rather get punched in the face than have to sit through that again :nervous:

that's weird. my dad was a GS13 techrep who worked on the weapons system for F18s (and harriers when they were still out), but he was best friends with all the pilots. went on deployment with them in thailand & australia all the time and everything.
