As far as some of the tracks being "unfinished projects", as usual, Mark Anthony, I dunno what you're smoking. This album has been in the works for years now. I don't think you could polish em any better. I'm not totally into every tune and I'll probably only end up playing a few of them myself, but I don't see how you can call this a weak release... |

| I would just like to state that I am a MASSIVE Jamie Jones fan, going as far as saying that, by country miles and miles, he has been my favourite DJ and producer for the last few years. However, I have been left feeling slightly... wanting by this album. I was really expecting quite alot more. I will admit that it is growing on my with every listen, and there are certain tracks that are obviously quality upon first listen (i.e. Turning Tables, Belter), but I think there's alot more to come from Jamie Jones as far as the album format comes. I personally think that the LPs released by Milton Jackson and Ben Klock this year are much more worthy contenders for dance music album of the year, but I will definitely be giving this more chances and more listens. A solid, if initially not ground-breaking, work all round. |

| Really liking Mars, Mexico, Belter and obviously Summertime. Everything else is generally quality but not great, at least going off of the samples. Saw a review that described the album as a grower and I can see that. Will be picking this up to give a full listen. |

like i said before clovis, i do not think it is bad at all, but album of the year and genre defining it is not.

yes
jacob london, mossa and such...i'll give more examples with links after my last after hurrah. I enjoy Jamie Jones a lot (you can check my set archive because i have played his tracks;) ) I am just a bit disappointed with this. It does by no means make him untalented or play worthy. I just say what i feel:)
That being said turning table is the track of this lp, and summertime had it been the dub version:) |
