If these are the ONLY two head units you are considering, then I say go with the panasonic. It has a higher RMS wattage value.
I say you should go with a highend Kenwood mp3 headunit. I had a Blaupunkt as my first Headunit. I loved that thing. If you have any car audio questions, PM me. |

| i got a clarion deck in my car.......it depends on what u plan to do, clarion is one of the most reliable audio company in the world......if u plan to have/got subs in your car go with the panasonic as it level control but the clarion has lower frequency response than the panasonic.......but personally imo i would go for the clarion as the quality all round is much better than the panasonic |

| I went for the Kenwood z919 MP3 player, Kenwood excelon 5 1/4s all the way around, a Rockford 500a4 powering those, and a RF 360a2 bridged to 600 by 1 powering an infinity perfect 10. :D I love it |

the panasonic one seems louder, but clarion has deeper bass. considering you're just 2 feet from the speakers when you're inside the car, i'd pick clarion.
but i had other choices if i were you --

Clarion DB625MP. plays mp3s on CD-Rs or CD-RWs, CD frequency response 10-20,000 Hz, signal-to-noise ratio 100 dB, 18 watts RMS/50 peak x 4 channels. US$289.
or something that takes both CD and MD, like Clarion's DMX5555Z?

180 Watt (45 W x 4), TV tuner control, infrared remote control, MD title display, 8x oversampling digital filter. dropped from $960 to $349, prolly because no one except me uses MD? |

| whats the diff between the mp3 player and just playing regular CDRs? I can burn mp3s onto a cd and it plays them? Anyways yea i think im leaning more towards the panasonic, because its preety cheap free shipping but not sure yet |

| the difference is that an MP3-CDRW player actually takes data CDs with mp3 files inside. a CDRW player plays CDRWs only if it's in audio CD format, i.e. you can only record 80 minutes of music. |
