As said, perfectly planned and organized event.

I came early, caught Buttrich.. he was okay.
Second Sun had some amaaaaaaaazing energy when they started, then faded but ended strong.

Chris Lake came on, and he was just brilliant. Minimal to Tech to Electro to Latin tech to Tribal, flawlessly going back and forth.
I thought at this point, it was tough to beat his set.

Then Roger comes on next.. oh jesus christ. Roger absolutely murdered the place. Towards the beginning of his set, he played Chuckie - Let the bass kick (Silvio Como Mix), and everyone just went ing nuts!!  :eyespop: From there, his energy never ever went back down. A plethora of Abel Ramos remixes including Fatboy Slim - Right Here, Right Now. Oh man, he was just so so ing on point.

Just when i thought it couldn't get any better.. he drops Born Slippy !:eyes: :eyes:

After them, caught Chus & Ceballos. They were pretty solid. I went to Kaskade for about 30 minutes, to me, he sucked ass. But I waited him out to see deadmau5.

Deadmau5 comes on, and oh boy. I've seen this dude in Miami rip it, I've seen him here at Cielo rip it, I'm a fan on his productions also but oh man.. he sucked so bad yesterday. :whip: Maybe he had an offday but that was horrendous. You just saw that after about 20 min, the entire main stage area was going towards other tents, including myself. It was sad..

Huge props to Made for doing such a great job. Everything was damn near perfect. The main stage could use more speakers. From afar the bass was good, and i'm sure they didn't want to drown out the other tents. But upclose, it sounded kinda weak. Every other tent was on point. Everything else was just great!

I'll be posting videos and pics soon
:toocool:

The least "hyped" acts really killed it, second sun in the tent was amazing they just brought an up-tempo feeling, and robbie rivera-holy sh*# what energy. The vibe in the tents is much better than the main stage, the tents have more of a club feeling but outdoors, the main stage is tooo big and sprawling, withthe dj too high up to get any real vibe, would have prefered Angello in one of the tents. i know alot of you are trance-heads, but take my word on this, an event liek this really lends itself to house and techno so try a couple of DJs out in the tents, even if you think your not "into that", youll be surprised how house music, sun, and sweat blend real nice. what every one said about made is head on, even better organized then the vetrans at ultra, each stage has 2 dj booths, one on the left, one on the right, so theres never anywaiting for another performer, total seamless transitions. plenty of spots to just chill under a tree, or even outside of the tents, so bring a sheet if you want. Really well behaved, diverse crowd, the older EDM heads definitly out in force, but the tweens to young to club were also there dressed up in make-up and raver gear which is fine and brings some life to the concert with their hula-hoops and glow sticks. Security was totallyreasonable, a zooted brit next to me was acting a lil nutty, security came checked on him, and told him to sit and relax or he'll be thrown out, so they gave hime a chance, and the guy just sat down and chilled-the exact right way to handle the situation. I walked across the triboro, decent pace should be about 15 minutes from 2nd ave/125 st to EZ entrance.$9 beer is steep, I think 5-6 bucks and you would have sold a whole lot more, btw beer lines were empty, could have heard a crickt, food prices about what you think, 5 bucks for a wrap. Amazing how well organized, we all know made has their ear to these forums, and RA, and rythmism, so all that NY bitching and wining about ultra/space/wmc events finally paid off lol, see you today

Yeah Second Sun was throwing down. I got there at like 2 and the place was already going bonkers. Then so did Chris Lake, then so did Roger Sanchez. That tent was insane and my fav of the day/night

The Sunday School tent was alright. Paco and Marco had a lot less energy and they kinda bored me. Luciano was decent. Danny was rocking the place though.

Main stage got crowded with Kaskade, he was ehhhhhh. Then I went over to check out Deadmau5 who blew so hard. Worst set of the show. It started out packed over there and by the end half the people left. So ing boring and horrible nintendo like . Then he ended up playing the Rick Roll song and was on the stage acting like a retard, I think Armin was like uhhhhhhh. But Armin got it going again playing some good trance that was a nice change of pace. Had the place rocking and threw a nice little mini set.

Overall epic event. My legs and fet are sore as from dancing/walking/standing all day. ton people there, had to be like 10k or something. They better do this every year.

Lol...Marco & Paco's sets were the best two I saw all day and the reviews here & on rhythmism indicate that other people felt the same. I don't even know how you could say they had less energy. I had a blister on my foot by the end of Marco's set from dancing.

Will say, don't know what was with that trainwreck Luciano pulled about 45-60 minutes into the set. He went off the path for a good 10-15 minutes after that, then pulled it back together to end.

DT was boring to start, so I wandered up to the main stage to hear the end of Deadmau5's set, but the Rick Roll thing just turned me right back around. Ended up catching the end of DT, which was way better than he started out, but not great.

Tiga's set was great to start and he really had the crowd going off, then it kind of died off a bit around 10:15-10:30 when people started leaving. I liked catching Mind Dimension & You're Gonna Want Me, though I could have done without Shoes.

I will say that I'm kind of glad my music tastes have changed. I couldn't deal with the main stage crowd, between the level of crowdedness, the random people sitting down in the middle of the crowd that you tripped over, and other general retardation that I missed.

Perfectly planned event indeed! i cant believe how awesome yesterday was, i pretty much caught everybody in every tent and i gotta say that marco carola, luciano, deadmau5 and benny benassi played the best sets! holy hell sunday school hilltop was sooo much fun! everything was so smooth and the sound and set up is unreal! can't wait for today

The Vza
Got there around 4:45 just in time to catch roger. He was definitely dirty wit it. I was glad to finally meet the rest of the TA's in our fantasy football league. Now I know exactly who's ass I'm gonna kick this year :haha:

After Roger I wandered for a bit to check out the digs. Saw Kaskade for a second, Francois for a second, Chus and Ceballos I stayed at for a lil bit cause they were really gettin it in. I'd definitely go to one of their parties whenever after hearing them at the zoo. I was really feeling the house for sure.

probably the highlight of my day; My friends that run Gradient Mag were blogging all day and had passes to be on stage for photos and they let me interview paco osuna. That was pretty awesome. To be honest, I think he was sweet on me. Lol. He wanted me in the shot and like, grabbed me, pulled me up to him and put his arms all up on me. lol. It was cool though. really nice guy. said he loves spinning for the American techno crowd way better than Europeans, he said more people here like techno with higher energy. I dunno, I'll post the interview later.

I would have much rather seen Luciano than Deadmau5, that's for sure. But my friends wanted to see the guy in the mouse hat. I'll admit, I wanted to see what the hype was about. And imo, not much... I mean, I thought he was a decent enough DJ, but it was just too slow and too monotonous and too much like a video game. He played 1 song that I liked.

then armin came on and my night was made. I thought he was great... Not too many songs with vocals which was nice, and I carved out enough open space around me that I could dance as recklessly as I wanted and people stayed the back. that was key. I've never said anything negative about armin.. but one thing...

No pun intended, but jesus christ!! How many times can someone pose during a set. Hands in the air, hands out to the sides, headphones in the air, in the smoke, lol. I thought that was over teh top. But yeah, he was pretty awesome either way

I was wondering if anyone could ID the track he played at 10:40. It was about 2-3 songs after communication. it sounded like a megashira/orange bill style song. It was sick.

I gotta say, Day 1 was ridiculous. I don't know how I'm gonna manage day 2. I'm already an hour and a half late. But in A. I barely made it though last night. Doing this sober is not easy. lol. I'll manage.

Super psyched for today!!!!! out
