In my opinion Bal en Blanc knew that they had to keep the volume down till the last movie session which usualy ends 12:30-1
I don't beleive anyone telling me they didnt know because that's the first thing pepsi Forum told us when we organized the tribe event.
Keeping danny Torrence in the dark till the last second was in my personal opinion ..... Bad (not to say another word) |

Hi guys,
just wanted to apologize on my behalf about the sound nonesense that went on during my set. Through no fault of my own, I was asked to keep the sound down to a barely audible level because of the movies at the cinema. Needless to say, I was FURIOUS but as a professional I am paid to handle these types of situation as best as possible.
What got me really going was that I was told prior to my set that I would have to play at a low level until about 12:10 which was acceptable. Just when I started to raise the levels and the crowd roared, the PEPSI people sternly told me that it was now until 12:40. It's at this point that I asked the organizers to announce to the crowd what was going on because there seemed to be a lot of confusion on the dancefloor, and understandably so. I was just hoping everybody heard. Trust me there was nothing I wanted to do more than blast the volume and rock it for you guys from start to finish.
Considering everything they went through, I thought the crowd was great in my abbreviated set! Thank you for that.
I am done with PEPSI, it's all about Coca Cola now!
just kidding,
:)

Hi Danny,
Thank you for sharing your point of view with us.
Did you asked Playground productions or Forum Pepsi why they did not told you this well in advance ? |

hey,
yes, Playground advised us during the week leading up to the event but that I would be able to pump it as of 12:10 which was acceptable. When PEPSI man told me at the event that it's now 12:40 which cuts into almost 75% of my set, is when I became frustrated.

My heart does out to you Danny, as a DJ I would have been totally disgusted and disheartened ... would have killed any motivation I would have brought to my set.
I don't think that is fair to you or the crowd that paid at least $100 to be there.
Next time if the Pepsi Forum wants to do this they should just hire 2-3 feature artists and play a pre-recorded CD until 1am... there is just no point.
Or just open the doors at 2 like it's an afterhours event.
I personally will never again buy a ticket for a major event like this at the pepsi forum. |

well put!
Now, imagine playing a 30 min warm-up set for David Guetta? :p
Didn't Uppercut open this thing? I feel bad for him too if he did (for different reasons). This pretty much added up to an 8-hr event, actually. Talk about not getting much bang for your buck in almost every sense here.
See you all in 30 days...$75 and 14+ hours :clown: |

| Seriously, I think it's one of the worst setups that I've ever heard! Stopping EDM for movies... Good thing that I went to the Stereo opening that night ;) |

Yeah I talked to Uppercut a couple of days later and he wasn't happy about it either. I don't think he will come back to this venue again unless he is a feature ( so he can perform they way he is supposed to ).
Sorry but these artists ( Torrence and Uppercut ) all play at Redlite where the sound system is off the chain , and NOBODY is telling them to "do this" and "do that" in the middle of their set... that's beyond nonsense... it's insulting.
Yeah Spin.... B&B ... ya ya ya!!! |

Honestly if Sensation or any Bal en Blanc related event is ever at Pepsi ever again I'm not going, espcially if Guetta and Armin are the headliners. I got there at 12:30ish and ended up waiting in line outside for over an hour just to get in. I also had to pick up my tickets from the wantickets line first before actually getting into the event. The only good thing about the wantickets line was there was no one else in it. I got into the wantickets line got my ticket quickly and easily then immediatly jumped back into the line with friends to get into Sensation without losing where I was.
I was looking forward to hearing some great beats from Danny before I knew my mood would be slightly brought down by Guetta, but got in so freaking late I think I heard maybe 20 minutes of Danny set before "I'm David Guetta Bitch" came on. And then I left close to the end of Armin Van Buuren set at 6:30 |
