I think it's hard to wow someone with some of the pieces you chose.. I always thought Bach was good for the flute, there's classical cred there and I think he gives you enough room for interpretation and expression to show off your artistic side, especially if you're not too strict with the tempo. Baroq music gives you more scope for improv.. you can add some ornaments show off your trills etc.
Have a look at Partita in A minor - the last movement is nice.

Ya, the reason I am also leaning towards Air for G String is because of all the trills.
I don't know how much thought I have to put into the piece (meaning, how they will judge me based on my choice of song) so much as I have just nail it and wow them with a good range and emotion.
I need to work on keeping certain parts quieter too... my high school music teacher told me that I was the loudest flute he has ever heard in his 25 years of teaching music.
