Going all digital (help/advice for a newb)

I'm looking for a control system that I can use with a computer/laptop.

Is this any good or is it a POS? I'm just a bedroom dj who'd like to start mixing and recording them again. If it's a POS, can anyone suggest anything? (under 500)

I have 2 technics mk5s, 2 pioneer CDJ 100s, and a pioneer CDJ 1000 MKII, but I never touch my stuff anymore. Could I get something that would let me use the CDJs as a controller?

Sorry, I'm sure this question has been asked 1234123 times. I don't even know what to search for.

Vestax VCI 100 is quite good

Sell your 1000 if you're not using it. You wont get any good midi functions (if any>?) off it.

I have the Total Control, it's good for what you're going to use it for. I'm happy with it anyways.

Torq Exponent aint too bad either. works like a champ for me.

The Xponent is pretty solid as far as controllers go.

With gear like yours I personally wouldn't even bother switching to digital. But i guess you have your reasons so it's fine.

I agree with the poster above. Get the Korg Zero 8. They're selling for around $800-$900 NEW on Ebay, from legit audio equipment vendors. If you want to go completely digital this is your best bet. You can pay a little less and get something else but this is a REAL piece of equipment with an 8 channel sound card, plenty of midi control, etc. This with Ableton live = more than you'll need for a while. If you have more money I would suggest a Xone 92 with 2 1d's and a motu ultralite, or a 1d and a 2d. This setup will run you close to $2g's though...

Btw, i've owned the Zero 8, Xone 3d and 4d, djm800 (with separate controllers). My favorite was the 3d/4d due to build quality and layout, and sound, but once again this is the most expensive setup.... The Zero 8 comes in 2nd place for me. The only thing I didn't like was the sharp digital sound and lack of buttons. I don't like the button banks.... Other than that it was a cool mixer, and now that they're super cheap it's a no brainer.

the zero8 could have a better integrated soundcard imo, but i still think it is very win.

i'll buy your tech12's if you're looking to sell them at a fair price
