Regardless, one can be arrested for threatening someone...regardless of intent to follow through. If I was the line judge I would have made sure she was arrested and I would file a hefty civil lawsuit against her. |

Just because some law enforcement officals don't enforce the law doesn't mean it shouldn't be. To threaten someone's life is a serious offence. If someone you didn't know threatened you, wouldn't you be just a little scared?
I think Serena was let off easy, no matter what fines she gets. I would be filing a multi million dollar lawsuit against her. |

a lot of the times things are said at the heat of the moment and for most part don't mean anything
if I was sued every time I yelled "I want to ring his/her neck!", I'd be in a poor house already.. |

she behaved in a disgraceful manor and obviously has extremetly poor self control... but lets not all turn into big pussies about it....I think her fine was appropriate punishment. |

It's this sort of chicken mentality that is clogging court systems the world over with frivolous law suits. Ridiculous. Threatening should be met with a fine & no right to do anything after that fine unless there's a repeat occurance. |

no...its people filling court rooms to fight speeding tickets and parking tickets that clog the system.
A "good" lawyer with "good" doctors can make this case worth millions for the psychological trauma this lady will suffer from for the rest of her life....hell she may never be able to work again because of the trauma (I know a few psychologists who I could get to say that). Something like this would never see the inside of a court room and would be settled outside of court. |

Any psychologist who comes up with bull like that should be charged with conspiracy to commit fraud, along with the doctors, lawyers, and the plaintiff. It is absolutely pathetic that in this day & age people can get away with trumped up lies because someone yelled at them, regardless of what was yelled.
To anyone that ever acts in a manner such as this, perhaps you should just commit suicide, because you are clearly a waste of food, water, oxygen, and space.
It's time to stop molly-coddling the pansies of the world. If you can't take a verbal barrage, don't become an official in a multi-million dollar sport, and stay the hell away from positions in life where confrontation is to be expected. |
