Hey!! So everyone, i moved from CLT to australia last year, where i've gotten super into the trance scene there. B
Butttttt, i'm coming back for a visit to CLT in december, and hoping to go out to a trance gig at the forum. nothings posted yet after Guetta so i'm keeping my eye on it...but coz i dont know how clubbing works in the states (i moved to aus when i turned 18) i thought it might be a good idea to talk to a few people on here etc..make some trance friends, coz i dont really have any in clt! i didnt discover good music till i was in australia.
So at events like these trance gigs at the forum...it doesnt go very late does it? im used to going to events that start at 10, i arrive around 11, and the headliners are around 1-3 or 4am, and the closing sets finish at 5 or 6am. I gather stuff finishes earlier in charlotte?
Also..whats the crowd like? i hate the housey/hip hoppy, there to be seen or pick up, grinding on each other type stuff. i figure this will be diff based on what ive heard about the forum, the music, etc...are most people there for the music, is it a pretty friendly, have a good time vibe?
But yeah, hey all! wish i could be seeing Gareth!! sooo bad... but only get in dec 6th so have to wait and see whats coming up... |

We will probably have a late night permit by December so chances are if there's a good show you want to attend, it'll go later than 2:30PM.
Stay tuned for calendar updates... |

oh good..that'd be nice lol. 2:30 is heaps early for a club to close.
also....so we have public transport in melbourne up the wazhoo...but i recall that charlotte is lacking in that....
so i'm 19, dont drive much....how would i go about getting home from the city at 3 or 4 or whenever that closes? I guess i could take a taxi.. it i hate taxis. In Melbourne i live in the city lol and just walk home.......lol |

Nothing in December booked except David Guetta though... |

If there isnt anything else in December...suggestions of where i could try going out in Charlotte? I like trance, tech house, electro, electro house. Cant stand hip hop, rap, commercial house..... Is there anywhere any time that might play music i like? *fingers crossed* |

Looks like Guetta is the last event booked this year from sugar society. "We'll be taking the rest of December and much of January off after this event to regroup and come back even better than ever in 2010"
There are several venues that have regular nights of EDM with lots of local talent. Look into Dharma Lounge, Tutto Mondo, Luna Lounge & keep your eyes on this message board for upcoming events and other venue options. |

Oh thank you so much! Thats a lil sad about sugar society, just coz i wont be around any other time, but the events they do put on look awesome!
Thanks too for those club names..have checked them out and i think Luna Lounge is looking best...tech house and electro house...shall keep researching. thank you so much coz i realise how hard it can be to find out about a certain type of music scene until you are on the inside. definitly experienced that in australia too. I'm looking heaps forward to coming and partying it up when i'm back in NC though!! |
