We need a speedcore polka room for Val to make him happy..

Just don't wet yourself when you are fist pumping to those crazy lineups on the other side of the ocean... :p

In any case, his old stuff is buried somewhere in my workout folder, he's good for that. I saw him in '05, when they use to open up these massives with trance and end with house (I miss that). Mixing was bad, track selection was lazy. He played Traffic, Stereohead was awed by it (I have proof :p)

ok just curious.

i actually listen to some okenfold em i have on my hardrive from the 90's once in a blue moon. That being said i've seen deaf/mutes sing better than the man can mix.

also open with house>open with trance.

bpm should go up during an event. Not start at 145 and go back down to 118 to 125. I think there should be no trance at all, but if you are going to do it at least save the "hard" stuff for 9am.

I think it's the Gatecrasher one (re workout set). Now I'm curious, how many gigs of EM is in that hardrive and how many records to you have?? How big is it? :p

I see what you mean but the flow I find is awkward either way, imo.

check the review thread for the time that lawler played new years eve at bc. I think it was dj vibe before him if i am not mistaken? I didn't go but all i heard was how the flow really sucked. You know lawler is not going to start harder than a jesuit priest at a boy scout convention, so why on earth would anyone time slot him there?

It would be like going to a concert, metallica opens and then the next act is i dunno, lets say jimmy buffet.

1- I actually saw Oakenfold last week in Vegas, I must say it was pretty decent, didn't hear no -ups and it was actually spot on music for this kind of crowd that was a mix of commercial and EDM beginners.

I enjoyed it. I don;t think he would be the worst choice.

2- It was obvious that Lawler's set would appear "boring", the music was almost hard tech tribal the whole way since midnight, and Vibe's bpm was pretty high. Now everybody knows Lawler will do a big ass intro and there's no way he will bring that bpm up to match Vibe's and ruin his style. It was an obvious mismatch.
Spin Laden
yeah, the one track in question was Roadkill?.. it's a very long track and unfortunately was a vibe-killer after DJ Vibe (no pun intended).

Those Resolution sets were only 90 mins long I thin, with Lawler's maybe an extra 30 mins more than the others, so we didn't hear his best work there, imo.

But having been to these trance/house events, yeah, separate rooms or separate locales for each.

I hate to have to write a dj off like Oakie after one gig but at these prices :whip: :whip: :p
Ravemontreal
Nah he didn't play Roadkill he probably started with Ralph Falcon's the Dig because I remember a slow tribal intro. Which is a good track but kinda of a downer after hard tribal.

Ravemontreal
