My goal is definitely to get stuff signed, but I have not sent anything out yet and won't until I think it really is able to compete with the best tracks out there.
In the end I like to consume art, and in the main that means painters, writers and musisicans need to get it out there in ftont of eye stalks. I therefore don't feel somehow undignified or soiled for wanting to get my own stuff signed and out there.
My wife has had to endure me taking a lot of time to put into my passion, so it would be great to show her it wasn;t all just a bit of naval gazing that comes to nowt. |

Making music for me is more or less an urge. I feel awkward if I don't make any music for a while.
It's always fun to get released every once in a while and I persue to get all my music to a quality which I consider to be release-able as well. I consider it a token of appreciation for my music each time I get signed. Even though the response is small (my) music has brought me many good things and new friends across the globe. |

But as long as people like my music then i'm up for that too. It's a nice feeling when someone says i like your stuff. :) |

Stoopid question, but how much money is involved with an EDM release?
On one forum someone said about £100 to the artist, on another the bloke was adamant his flatmate's release earned several thousand.
My guess is you get very litte unless it's a pretty big track added to compilations etc, and even then it's not going to be more than a thousand?
In Future Music Magazine thy had a UK house producer that says he releases 3 to 4 tracks per week and has done for the last 10 years using various alias's. |

From $1,000 to $1,000,000
depends on the track, the label, the distribution, the marketing/promotion, radio play, name recognition being built over time, quality of music, whose supporting it and bringing attention to the track, tons of factors that will add value to your track.
And then if your a DJ of course, great releases can bring you some international gigs that will add more value all around. |

| What sort of EDM release will earn $1,000,000? The highest amounts I have heard about are in the tens of thousands. Maybe if it gets licensed for some really big movies, I guess. |

| i have mainly made music for fun and always have id play them to friends if they where interested but most of my friends dont like the music i listen too, over the last 2 years i made some friends who are into music production and djing and since then ive got more serious about it, i would like to get my music signed but im not expecting to make much money out of it, i would rather it be played by the djs i go watching and make no money than have not many people hear it and make little money, id be happy if i heard someon like for example john o callaghan/eddie halliwell/ greg downey play my tune at a goodgrief event that is my ultimate goal anything else would be a bonus |

The biggest EDM tracks easily earn 6 figures. A million might be a stretch, but i'm sure there are a few tracks that get there each year. Typically tracks that you see with Amazon and Itunes download links on Youtube videos sell a ton. Of course that is stuff like Sharam - PATT type huge tracks. Stuff that is played worldwide by tons of DJs, and ends up on compilations, international radio play, music video, ring tones, commercials, etc etc. And then there is the collateral gains like getting 4/5 figure DJ gigs based on interest for the track that furthur support an artists discography. So a huge track could easily net 6 figures at least once the snowball is rolling. I think peeople read forums like this too much who think that EDM music doesnt have earning power, much of it is propaganda. |

| Man, if true, it depresses me to think that Sharam is netting millions off of "Party All The Time." What a testament to the musical taste of the masses. |
