I have to dig up some pix from his first Guv appearance when he played to a small crowd of TRUE fans.
Also at the BBR in Windsor... yeah, I travelled all the way from Aurora!
I got a pic of Joel signing his first boob too!

cant remember the last time i saw the main room so packed!
Sadly I missed Joel's set.. again! One day I'll actually see that mouse head in action!
Gallery was jammed and hot. The amp powering the monitors died 30 minutes into our set. playing without monitors for an hour was pretty frustrating, but thankfully Tim the sound guy came to the rescue and found a self powered on for us! yay!

I totally agree, I came out of retirement for this party and had an amazing time. Haven't been to Guverment in almost 15 months and I forgot what a crazy Zoo that place can be :eyespop: :eyespop:
The night started off ty as the parking machine ate my 20$! Had to wait for about 30-40 min in line, got super soaked but once I was in I didn't care that I was wet. The place was packed to the by 12 so I seeked refuge in the Gallery. Jillian (the wife) has never been to Guverment before and not being from the scene was super overwhelmed by how crazy things were in the Guv. Evan and Cam were rocking the Gallery on some 4 deck madness. I think out of the whole Guv complex I missed the Gallery most.
I was out for a smoke when Deadmau5 came on and the place went offfff!!! I tried to get a view from the side but even with my height it was hard to see anything form the side so I had to go to the middle. The dance floor in front of the Dj booth was a war zone I honestly don¡¦t ever remember people fighting like that to get to the front . It honestly reminded me of a heavy metal mosh pit girls were getting pushed to the ground people were throwing elbows etc. just crazy. Deadmau5 came out in his disco ball head, but after a few min had to take it off as it looked like he was super hot. The place was totally cooking I honestly think I sweated out 5 lbs just standing getting pushed around.
I really Enjoyed Deadmau5 set it was really well put together with all my favorites being played a few new ones. Once last call had come and gone the place loosened up a tiny bit and I found an enjoyable place to stand and take in the beats. I was impressed how the set got better and better as time went on perfect main room set from start to finish. Some of my friends had a booth in the acid lounge so I went to chill there because there was room to move around. What sucked 2 of the speakers were broken and kept crackling :( Left around 4:30 as I was super tired as all I had all night is one of those energy shots form 7-11 ļ
Overall though I had a good time glad I made it out and I have to say I¡¦m super proud of my self as it was also a test to see if I can make it through the night completely sober :D
Deadmau5 FTW

Yup, Orange room, it was an all-access event, prolly right about decadence. Plenty of room to dance! His first night at the Guv felt so grandios at the time, and a sign of him moving on up! Prolly sketchbag's last visit to the guv too!

By that time he'd already played for the bigger audience. I remmeber I asked him If he was excited to play the Guv finally and his answer was he'd played in better places..

Yeah man, that sucked that we lost our monitors right as we got going. BIG thanks to Tim for saving the day with a big powered speaker, what would we do without Tim!!!!
When I got to Guv around 11:30pm the place was a zoo already. Man Joel pulls a crowd, that was crazy! I got to hear and watch a little bit of the end of his set, but unfortunately not the whole thing. I saw the mouse head in the booth with him, but wasn't able to see it in action.
Definitely liked what I heard, most impressive thing was watching him work though. Unfortunately cause of the big screen behind him I wasn't able to get right up close, but what I could see was awesome....
