After working a desk job for a year a little while back, I realized there is absolutely no way I am going to make it in this life unless I do something I enjoy for a living.

You say it like it's not common sense.

I don't see too many people acting on it.

Isn't that the ing truth.

Looking back... man, I've had some jobs :stongue: Doing whatever, just to make ends meet.

I feel pretty god damn lucky to be where I am now. It's stressful sometimes, and it's not quite what I was expecting (or even close to it, frankly), and I might be able to make more money working for somebody else...

that though. It's all about the lifestyle. The time to pursue the things you love, and still being able to make a buck or two.

PS: I may or may not be overly romanticising this due to the beer.

:o

I think it would benefit humanity if more people could work at something they are passionate about.

Of course.

This is why communistic forms of living could never be the idealistic paradises their proponents envisage though. No one wants to clean toilets all day, but someone has to do it. There are probably never going to be enough satisfying and/or enjoyable jobs to cater for the whole population, and even if there were, the process of finding the job that's right for the person is a fairly difficult process.
