Grocery store pet peeves (pg. 6)

I guess that you americans have fruits vegetables etc packed up at some plastic packages so you're missing out on alot of fun.
Here we mainly have system, where you put the fruits/vegetables into these plastic bags, weight them up with scale and then get sticker that you put to the bag.
So what usually happens is, that some elderly lady forgot to weight in her potatoes and cashier goes to other side of the store to weight them up.
This alone causes a lot of line switching and general frustration, but the look on peoples faces are just priceless when they realize that the lady also forgot to weight his potatos...
This thread reminds me of few years back, when I was Finnish 7/11 equivalent, really small store with only 1 person working at a time. As I'm about to walk in, I see this black Toyota Hiace parking next to the store. So I walk in and start picking the stuff I needed, and then gypsies start to pour in. I counted total 11 of them, 4 women with the gypsy dresses with god knows how many hidden pockets, 5 kids and 2 men... They then spread around the store and started "looking" at the stuff. Then one of the women asks the cashier to come *help* him with some random bottle of milk or something like that, and while the cashier was away the kids gathered about as much cigarettes and candies as they could fit in their pockets and walked out... I really wanted to see how this is going to end and just kind of hang around the 2 aisle looking at stuff. I didn't actually see the women hide anything, but I sure as hell knew they did it, and at the end they decided to leave, buying like 10€ worth of stuff at the end. I waited till they left the store and then went to the cashier, who was calling her boss and told that "They came again."
What I have heard that happened at that store almoust on daily basis... (The store got closed/went bankrupt about a year ago.) The thing that makes the situation so difficult is, that apparently only female officers can do body check to the gypsy women. |

| No, most of the vegetables and fruit are in trays and you pick what you want and put it in the bag. the weight scale is located at the cash register and the cashier does the weighing. |

Senior discount day.
Here its the third Wednesday of the month... of god that noise. What makes it so great is when you see people walk in (clearly forgetting its Senior Discount Day) , spot all the old people and make a very audible "Oh ."

| I had a very rude elderly lady one time bumping her overfilled cart into my back because i woudnt let her go in front of me ( her, i had a bag of chips and a comic book in my hand and by the look of her cart she did a months worth of shopping). This went on from the time she got into the line behind me, demanded (not asked) that i let her go before me and i gave her an annoyed, yet still polite reply that she can wait until i buy my two items, but if i have to wait until she gets done im bound to be older than her by the time its my turn. Anyway, I ignored the bumping for as long as i could, then when i got fed up with i pushed the cart back with my ass as hard as i could, it hit the old hag knocking the wind out of her and making everybody else in the line giggle (everybody in my line, and the lines next to us saw what was going on), then i smiled at the cashier (she was hot), and went about my day. Those chips were ing excellent as well. |

man i just went to dunkin donuts to get a gift card and this fat little black girl was being a ing BITCH to the lady behind the counter. the cashier was rude too and didnt seem to want to help her but i'm sure it was the way she was approached by this little fat 10 year old rolling her eyes everywhere. lol
god damnit i ing hate obnoxious children with no manners. |

| I always have to check people on the bus. Little ing s that take up the priority seating and whatnot. Just last week this elderly woman got on the bus and not only did nobody get up from the front seats, but nobody bothered to pull down the wheelchair seat that was folded up. I got up from my seat at the BACK of the bus, walked to the front and put the seat down for her and said "Excuse me, there's a seat here for you now." And turned around and gave everyone at the front the death stare while I said "in morons" just loud enough for them to hear. |
