this happens so many times:
Justin Kerrigan: We wanna go somewhere else. We're not threatened by people anymore. All our insecurities have evaporated. We're in the clouds now. We're wide open. We're spacemen orbiting the earth. The world looks beautiful from here, man. We're nympholeptics, desiring for the unobtainable. We risk sanity for moments of temporary enlightenment. So many ideas. So little memory. The last thought killed by anticipation of the next. We embrace an overwhelming feeling of love. We flow in unison. We're together. I wish this was real. We want a universal level of togetherness, where we're comfortable with everyone. We're in rhythm. Part of a movement. A movement to escape. We wave goodbye. Ultimately, we just want to be happy. Heh, yeah hang on, what the was I just talking about? |

yeah. The whole style is horrible. Story line isnt that great. If it had more to do with rave culture, it would be better. But even if I wasnt expecting a rave movie, it would be bad. No offense UKTAs, but the British arent known for the good film productions (cept the Monty Python woot!) I like the music that plays though. I dunno. I think its a C grade video. It has some weird , and the people arent good looking lol. Feels like an amateur film |
without readin the thread from any further than this post, id say your very wrong, human traffic is one of the most spot on, down to earth clubbing movies ever. To those that have done drugs before, there is an immense similarity and likeness to how it really is... the portrayal of being ed off your head.. a group of normal clubbers... the ed up stupid guy [moff] the DJ [koop] the talking bull... the comedown, the afterparty aftermath, the blagging yourself into a club..... everything is 110% bang on exactly like what clubbing is like over here. Admittedly to a person that dosnt take drugs, this movie can be less interesting as theres not a lot relate to. but to a person like myself, as part of a group of unlikely friends, like in the movie, theres a tremendous likeness and meaning, as what is captured in the movie is what happens nearly everyweek to me [or atleast it used to].
im sorry you didnt like this movie but i feel its an absolute gem in its own right :) |

Have to disagree, the movie is just what it was supposed to be. A realistic film about UK club culture. I don't think anybody ever claimed it was a "rave movie". I'd call it a "weekend movie", and it pretty much sums up what your average UK 18-25 year old does between Friday and Monday. I can pretty much relate to every scene in some way...basically the film is wicked. |
the Spadster is spot on... it is (or was - before GC went monthly) a fine example of the weekend in Blighty. |

Just saw it the other day, and thought it was pretty entertaining.
I liked the direct way it tells the story, were you are drawn into the story from the start.
Quite fun also. |
