side note on the time limit... I understand this policy for a fast food joint but a sushi place? Is this normal? Is this a student hangout type of eatery? I normally would never go to a place which treats its customers like cattle to feed. |

Quite a number of AYCE sushi places do, but not a la carte. Its not an issue anyways, they have no time limit for us. |

I guess that's a dense downtown thing... I never got timed in an AYCE place ever. I can understand though for cheapskates that order just water with their food and nothing else... but setting a policy is still bad for business. Good waiters are very keen at subtly indicating when one has overstayed their welcome, like bringing them the bill when it's time, or when the customer no longer wants any drinks. It's quite simple. But judging from my experience in these AYCE sushi places I've been to downtown, the waiters weren't the friendliest, rarely smile and move around very quickly. |

AJ most of AYCE sushi have a time limit - I've been to a few in Thornhill and North York, same deal. |

I've never had a problem at echo. I was there for 2 hours once, and even stayed well past close.
Honestly the time limit makes sense. If you are a young hungry guy (or a big fatty), you can get hungry within a meal, or very shortly after. So you can eat like crazy for the first 45min, wait 30 min, and start eating like crazy again. Its not often, but it must have happened for AYCE to put a time limit in there. |

Never experienced it. If there was a sign, I never seen one, and never felt rushed out of one other than Sushi Island on King. In my area, I definitely never saw a sign, definitely not Sushi Kiu. |
