(Berlin, DE) - German DJ/Producer Ulrich Schnauss is suing Rock band Guns N' Roses and the Interscope-Geffen AM label for illegal use of two copyrighted samples which belong to Ulrich on their track Riad N' the Bedouins. Allegedly the band is being accused of stealing snippets of Ulrich's tracks Wherever You Are and A Strangely Isolated Place.
To be honest we can say they do sound strangely similar by comparison. Ulrich is demanding the sum of one million dollars paid to him for the illegally obtained samples.
The track in question was released on Guns N' Roses latest album entitled Chinese Democracy on which they have accumulated the profits of 3.2 million sold copies. Guns N' Roses are denying these allegations to the fullest extent claiming that they do not believe any unauthorized samples were used in the making of this track.
Here are video clips on YouTube where the tracks by Ulrich can be heard so you can judge for yourself.

Once you have listened to those, compare the sounds to the Guns N’ Roses release which can be found here:

We guess we will see how this plays out in court or whether a settlement agreement can be reached. This is not the first time such allegations were brought against Guns N' Roses but we certainly hope they have learned their lesson by now.

ugh GnR is sooo overrated...
and i'm not surprised if Axel ripped off someone else's material
considering it took him 10+ years to complete this album and didn't have Izzy to assist him in the music writting process, i wouldn't put it past him that he was hung up on ideas and needed help by ripping off other songs |

| LOL, I listened to the samples and they appear to be the same as the one's on Ulrich's tracks. Now the thing is if they are really Ulrich's original samples or did he grab them from somewhere else. |
