Ha Okay so after an absolutely amazing night with Joris Voorn I ended up going to the 13th anniversary party for Guv. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from the night . As Crookers I thought would of drawn a huge crowd I guess I was wrong considering peoples posts. However I didnt even Venture into the KH for me it would be a waste of time can guv please stop booking them already they have beeen there multiple times recently many of you complain about how repeat talent to much well this is to much, once a year / twice isn't that bad but like once every 2 months or so ugh! /rant
Well we got in at about 11:40 . Mark Oliver was on, I havent liked a guv set of his in a while but his opening was actually pretty good just having fun and warming up for the night .
Then Mark Knight came on . Well im not a fan I personally thought his set was garbage and I spent pretty much the entire set out side on the patio, which was pretty fun so good lol
I went back in for 2 (i guess). .. when Danny was suppose to come on and he was late...
But when he did good times were on there way. It was a lot of fun sorry ~C~ no cheese here at all :P just plain pounding away some great tracks but from the 4 live sets I been at this one ties with for second or comes up as a close 3rd. although I did not want him to stop I was hoping it would go on till about 10 / 9 30 maybe 8am was pretty good to.
He was amazingly responsive to the crowd which was amazing from signing autographs to shining his spot lights of Jason and Devon for there RIP Michael Shirts. There was a certain energy there. To the point he got down gave a few hugs shook a few hands , and during the last track danced in the crowd which was amazing ,

All in all FUN time

Because i found the lights the worst possible fit for the party.
the strobes were sooooooo painful. the lights were flashing me in the eyes continuously for 4 hours. thank god they simmered down at the end of the night because i can't imagine having that torture for too much longer.
i don't know if new lights were installed and they wanted to try out all the new things at the same time but i personally found the lighting way overboard. especially at the beginning of danny's set. it should be dark, with minimal lighting. i was actually trying to find a spot where i could hear the music but hide from the lights cowering in the corner.
this is obviously just my opinion and i don't mean any harm from it. |

I'm going to jump in just for a sec and repeat myself...
This type of music isn't right in this kind of room...
It belongs in a dark, smaller venue...
Neither of which is Guv...

I still have a huge smile on my face due to this night. Magical :)
MO's set was 'meh' I enjoyed him when we first got in but the end of his set bored me.
Knights set really disappointed me. WTF he played La Mezcla instead of Flauta Magica ???? No real direction, some of his mixing was a mess... Went to Orange room to check out Funkerman... I REALLY enjoyed him :) Lots of energy and helped get my night really started.
Popped by KH... lol wow! We did have a 1 min mega dance off... was fun while it lasted but way too noisey and screechy for me.
Back to Main Room just in time for Man with a Red Face... I was in HEAVEN! That song makes my knees sooooo weak!
Danny T turned me into his dancing puppet. Second time hearing him and in total awe. I wanted more. Never has a set just flowed so well throughout time. I didnt understand marathon sets until this weekend... I am in need of a true Danny Marathon ASAP.
Him coming down to the floor was one of the best club moments of my life.
Great meeting some new TAs. Skipper you were a blast! lol
