HOLY ! YOU SPENT $2500 ON THOSE PEICES OF ??

OMFG.... OMFG.... ARE YOU RETARDED???

*can't believe someone spent that much on *

Okay...

Tech1200's at Metro Sound = $700 x 2 = $1400
Mixer at Metro Sound = $500
$1400 + 500 = $1900

you could've saved your ass $600 if you bought from Metro Sound... and that's not even a package... Metro Sound has packages where you'd be spending LESS than what i said... say... $1600 for 2 techs and good mixer.

OMFG....

*shakes head*

well like I said before I got the headphones and a pair of needless as well, and yeah I wanted the PISSES OF STANTONS! IS THAT OK WITH YOU?:D not that I give a . But had I ing know that the bastards at the ing UPS would charge me a damn fortune, never would have ordered them. YUP I SPEND $2500 CAD but it was my money. So what do you give a , you are not out $2500, I am! :stongue:

So here is what I paid $950 (TT's) + $550 (mixer) + $150 (headphones) + $340 (Pair of Stanton GRM's 2) + $110 (Delivery) + $400 (COD's this is where I got ed) = $2500

Oh and BTW did any of you help me find a place in TO to buy the decks? No I remember I made a thread last year about me wanting to buy TT's and not a single soul replied. And since I don't live in TO I could not find jack to buy, not even a store that carried DJ equipment. Had anyone ing helped me but no one did so what the is there to moan about now? So yeah I lost some money but I love my TT's and none of you are out of money.

Yeah I am ing retarded like that, does that get you off or something! Thanx for all your ing suport! It really helps you know!:haha:

$1600 + $300 for carts, + $150 for headphones + 15% tax

$2400.. same deal. :P

Considering you're a n00b to spinning, you don't need cart's like those. Stanton 500al or 680hp's would do just fine.

$100 for Sony MDR500 (better than the 700's)
And still... a package deal from Metro Sound would've saved your ass a lot of cash.

Even if he spend $800 per 1200, and it all came out to $2400, he'd still be WAY ahead, as he'd have Techs... not POS stantons.
There's a reason why Technics 1200 and 1210's are industry standard. It's because they're built to last, they have high-torque motors, and they're bullit-proof.

Why am i concerned? because idiot's like you shouldn't DJ.
You could've given me the money and let me run... it would've done you better. Seriously, tho. The mixer is nice. Better for techno and hardcore, but after you master beatmatching and , that mixer will let you pull off some nice technical mixes.

anyhow... back to the tables:
First of all, the torque on stanton's is weaker than low-end gemini's.
Second they have the straight tonearm's which are good for scratching, but regular play they're ass, and pointless if you're going to spin trance.

As for asking for help on here a while ago:
Since when did you have to rely on people in a message board to buy pizza? You didn't. You just looked up the number and called. Well... you do that here too...you pick up the yellow pages and looking for "musical instrument sales" or whatever, then you start calling the shops up and asking if they sell the DJ equipment. I'm sorry i wasn't around to answer that question a year ago as you say, when you asked.

As far as i know; Play De and East Bloc sells equipment and for other record stores you could just ask the guys. I'm sure they'd tell you where to go.
The big place to go is Metro Sound. It's on Yonge just north of College, on the west side. It's a small shop, so if you blink at the right time, you'll miss it. (i'll say it again) They have package deals there, where you will spend less per peice because the packages are set up that way. They can manage to take a hit on the overhead if they're selling three boxes instead of one. It's just business economics.
Or you could go to Steve's (on queen) but i suggest against that since they're a Guitar/Drums/Piano store. and they're pricey too.

My suggestion would be, is you call the place up you bought the equipment from and tell them it's not what you want and ship it back, and get a refund. However, you don't need to waste another $400 on UPS shipping.

Do you have any friends that spin? If you do, did you think to consult them for help? Because I know if I made a huge investment like that, I would take the time to get lots of opinions and locations on where to get the best deal.

Just a thought.

sorry, the mdr-v500's aren't better than the v700's, which aren't very good either. Don't believe me, ask Gluegun. He's the headphone expert around here. Do you work for metro sound or something? lol... last time i checked, (december) they were selling that vestax mixer for $640 or something...

everyone knows the technics' qualifications. Those stantons however, aren't as POS as you think. In fact, Ministry of Sound has replaced their technics with Stanton ST-100's. They do have more features, and the specifications do stand up. If they're as reliable and durable as technics, it has yet to be determined.

Hey hey, no need to be calling names now. Don't get all worked up because he has a job and money to spend. It's his money after all.

again, you're probably getting the 100's confused with the 80's or 60's. Stanton has put out a competitor to the 1200 with its str8-100 and st-100. similiar to the vestax decks and the numark ttx-1 or whatever.

uhm, that would just cost more money. Thats a silly suggestion. He has the equipment, and he's happy with it. REmember, his money... not yours...

the only reason I got involved in this anyways, because I felt I had to stand up for him from you calling him and idiot and whatnot. I don't think its neccessary to be calling him names, especially when I don't see anything wrong with what he did. :P Although he should've been warned about the brokerage fees. Everyone learns.

BTW, there is the DJ Booth forum on this board, with tons of experienced DJ's who can give you advice on equipment and stuff. These guys are really helpful.
